Buy one of those electric heaters. It's better than nothing at all

i've learned better than to trust my landlord to do anything, i bought my own space heater. it warms up the bedroom quite fine, but when i have to go out of my room, then i have problems. i haven't shaved in a while because it's too cold to stay in the bathroom for longer than necessary.

i have a beard now, so shaving daily isn't that important, but if i let it go for too long it gets all weird looking, but i don't care, it's too damn cold to stay in the bathroom for that long

Dude, read Weez's New York thread. He talks about how he went skating that morning.

I'll tell you this. On that same morning, I got off work at 12am. I stepped out of the building and a freaking gust of wind came and I swear to god, that gust of wind was sooooo cold that it whipped all of my dick into my nipples.

And this guy went skating that morning.

oh yeah, boston gets those winds too

literally, monday or tuesday morning this week, i forget which, but it was one of the days my heat was working...anyway, i stepped outside, and the wind punched me in the face, and i just had to yell FUCK loudly...it was one of those days, where the only option is to swear, i'm sure you've had them

So how's the snow in Boston? We had a nice little snowstorm recently but it pretty much melt.

It's one of the things I miss about Ohio. When it snows there, it's cold. And the snow stays as well as the cold during the winter. Freakin NY can't make up it's mind.

it was in the mid 70s here today. a few clouds, but just the most gentle breeze you've ever felt. it was so nice i sat outside in my school's botanic garden and read on a bench for an hour. there were butterflies and birds flying around all over the place. i had to take my light sweater off after sitting in the sun for a few minutes.

i think we've only had 2 snowfalls. 2 and a half tops.

one was pretty nasty. it snowed heavily, but then immediately turned into slush. so it was just like...a shitload of slush. then it turned into ice. then it sort of started to fade away, then it snowed again and reinforced the ice.

it hasn't been a fun winter.

yeah fuckn, i wish you gave me that advice in january. i was going to buy a portable aircon, but my landlord ASSURED me that i would have aircon at the very latest by march. guess what its march. i bet he was hoping summer would have finished by now and i wouldn't care, but it seems like we still have another 2 weeks of summer to go. SO PISSED OFF.

my apartment doesn't have air conditioning either, but that's kind of a luxury around here...then again, i don't live in australia, it probably doesn't get quite as hot up here...i'd just been living with a window fan

old australian properties don't have heat or air con, i guess people just used to deal with it. these days aircon is essential, so people usually get a split system so it can do both. while winter in perth isn't very cold, a lot of friends from overseas claim it feels colder, because everything is out in the open and not in enclosed heated spaces. like most school have lockers and all that outside, not in hallways of building like i see on the tv

I feel for you guys. I had to put up with that awful, bitter wind last week.

Literally, it was 71 degrees one afternoon, and that night/the next morning it was 31 degrees and thunderstorming.

The wind was the most bitter I've ever felt; so fucking cold.
