Yo im in desperate need of the beat that gets played halfway through Root Down an they pose to it. Like hands in air, arms crossed, hand on knees, then point to crowd. Iv been doing this with EVERY song lately.

You can kind of hear the beat in Missy Elliots - "We Run This".

If someone could hook me up with the beat thats used live id be stoked, Thanks.

I believe MMM uses one of the Gamblin Petes break records that has a long extended loop of the apache break. I have seen him pull out that records when he has performed live and it has the Apache break on it. I forgot which actual break record its on though

Here is the album it is on. Mine is packed away in a dungeon with my old records. But the breaks on this album are nice. And the apache one is super loud.

considering that already hurricane used that break (correct me if wrong) I'd say it comes from elsewhere originally....maybe they looped it themselves and it hasn't been on any release

The original break is by the Incredible Bongo Band and the cut is "Apache". Its on the Bongo Rock LP
http://www.turntablelab.com/vinyl/0/0/14867.html

Its been sampled 8 gazillion times. Its one of the most famous breaks ever. Grandmaster Flash used it in 1981 on "Adventures on the Wheels of Steel". West Street Mob used in on "Breakdance Electric Boogie" in 1983, the Sugar Hill Gang also used it in 1983 on "Apache Rap" but it was being played long before that at jams and in clubs. That break is everywhere.

Like mcamuto said, the looped up verison Mike is using is on Gamblin' Pete's Million Dollar Blackjack Breaks. Its a break record for DJs.

Yeah iv seen all those sampled versions while looking. But the main one im looking for is the Gamblin Pete's version that Mike uses. Does an mp3 of it exist ?

Hip Hops National Anthem, apparently. It's originally a Shadows song from 1960 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_%28instrumental%29 . The Incredible Bongo band sample is mighty mighty fine. (y)

Melo D is good peoples. Just buy his record if you want the sample. Then convert it to MP3 if you want. You're going to have a hard time with samples if you don't deal with vinyl.

Cosign!

If u know its on the gamblin pete record just buy it. There is tons of old skool jams like that to be found on break records.... I have heard djs spin that tune tons of times, hence its a classic break. U will have a hard time finding those types of songs online or p2p. Just a thought.... Good luck.

I would buy it, but the chances of that record being anywhere ever close to where I live is slim to none.
