underground brands. today i went to a store thats all about hip hop they sell cd's, concert tickets, even tagging supplies (thats hard to find) but their specialty is underground urban brands. so i'm checking at all the shirts & love them all but the only thing stopping me from buying them is they're expensive & they're all in men sizes BOO!:(
i saw the dopest shirt that had a pic of run dmc & the eastie boys in their tour bus but the smallest size was so effin big on me:( shit was on sale too
i also found out about "flip the bird" clothing thru a friend of mine
dope logo ain't it? (http://www.workmens.com/images/products/FTB-Camo-S.jpg)

You're already pretty cool for a teenage girl.
Are there any underground clothes that could get you in trouble at school or in your neighborhood? A few years ago, my friend's son got assaulted over something he was wearing.

The men's size thing isn't a big deal. If you have even rudimentary sewing skillzzzz you could easily tailor it so it fits you the way you want. The cost is a whole other thing though. I dunno, check ebay or amazon maybe? Or if you know what you want go to less expensive stores and find similar shirts and tailor them if they're too big.
PS-sewing really isn't that hard, if you don't know how you can learn fast.

why thank you.
that has happen here before but i don't think there are any brands specifically that might get you assaulted. especially since they underground not too many people know about them.
i told my friend about the prices & he says they go down in price often so i should just be patient till they do
also this just gave me an idea to just buy plain shirts & put my own dope designs on there. it'll save me some money for other things(y)

That sounds like a great idea.
My niece (who's now in her early 20s) never had any money when she was in school. She's an artist-type and can carry off things that other people wouldn't get away with. She bought a lot of used clothes, like men's bowling shirts, and matched them with unusual pieces of her own clothes, and altered them a bit. She's still buying vintage used clothes, but more feminine things now and she always looks really terrific.
For what it's worth, you're an attractive girl, and you've got more guts than a lot of girls your age (never in a million years would I have gotten up on stage and sung a song in front of a bunch of jerks :p). I suspect that you can carry off wearing oversized male clothing and still look cute. My other niece always wears her dad's football jerseys to school and she's adorable.

i'm a label whore, and proud of it. but here and there, i like stuff that is not what i normally sport. so, i just go to the store and if i see something that's cute and it fits and doesn't cost more than my other stuff, i buy it. you can find amazing sales at macy's, or at other high end stores or their outlets.
don't overthink things. if you like shit you think is viewed by others as overplayed, wear it and tell them to fuck off. being true to yourself is always better than anthing else you could do.
anyway, i sport ralph lauren, theory, seven jeans, and tommy hilfiger. and i know there's tons of tommy haters, but when they see this one shirt i just got, they'll be jealous, cause i look fucking delicious in that shirt.

I hate Tommy so much. My friend was going to buy her boy something of his and I wouldn't let her. :p
But I am a label whore for sunglasses, purses, shoes, coats, scarves, pens, and all kinds of other things. I just hate Tommy the man. I wear loads of Lauren. :o But he makes the cutest spring coats every year!

I once bought a pair of DKNY jeans at Gadzooks for a dollar, just because they were a dollar. They didn't fit, so I gave them to my sister. But I was damn proud of that find. There's also a Dillard's here that sells EVERYTHING for at least 80% off. Some stuff you can get up to 75% on top of that 80%. I wound up getting a really cute Marc Jacobs shirt for $5 there. It's not too hard to find cheap, awesome (and sometimes designer) stuff if you know where to look.

I'm a slightly cheaper label whore than you, Beth. About 20% cheaper than you. :p

I saw a two year old with a Louis Vuitton wallet today. It pissed me off. I wanted to assume that it belonged to the mom at one point, but it looked too new. Why would anyone give a toddler Louis freakin' Vuitton?

There are many fakes. I assume that all of them are fakes at this point.
My friend had a fake Kate Spade that was very believable back when those purses were popular. That is a purse I've never understood. I couldn't spend $300 for nylon.

Sometimes I use disposable pens, but sometimes I use more expensive pens. I like Auroras but they're more difficult to find than they used to be. It's like wearing a suit when you're in court -- it makes you feel like you have your game face on.
I usually bring a Papermate pen to a deposition. I have manila folders and an old legal pad instead of one of those fancy jobs in a leather folder. I also dress sloppy and bring a beat up bag on wheels with overflowing exhibits. I like the people I'm deposing to think that I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, because they feel sorry for me. ;)

see, my thing is i'm super sweet, and the cops tell me what i want to hear and they are glad to say it on the stand. they all smile at me, and say good afternoon and ask me how i'm doing, etc., WHILE ON THE STAND. and then, after trial, they thank me for my integrity.

you know, gmile, the inmates don't really do much of anything to me. in fact, most of them adore me. they make up nicknames for me (the latest, which has sorta faded away, was snowbunny, because i'm white as snow and cute as a bunny, apparently) and they tell me when they've intentionally switched the signs after mopping so that i walk on the dry side. i've heard from one guy when i saw him on the street that i have a really good reputation at the jail as being someone who truly cares, and that makes me feel like i've done my job and then some.

i still have not been grieved *knocks on formica*. i knew one person who had been grieved 4 times within her first 6 months. everyone has been grieved by now except me. when you do the job i do, it's a matter of when, not if, you'll be grieved.

There are not enough people like you working in the system. I hate it that our society just doesn't care about prisoners. I wish we would spend more money on finding out why these people are behaving the way they are.
