This sounds really interesting, I have no idea how it will work/turn out…sounds highly conceptual..…the only thing of Todd Haynes I’ve seen is “Velvet Goldmine” which looked great but went nowhere really…..but the soundtrack for this has shaped up nicely:

"When a movie is based upon the life of a folk superstar, the soundtrack tends to be just as important as the film itself. Director Todd Haynes assembled a largely famous group of actors to participate in the Bob Dylan biopic I\m Not There and he is doing the same when it comes to the complementing music.

If the list of actors taking on the role of Bob Dylan isn't eclectic enough, the soundtrack will be. Playing Bob Dylan in the movie are such heavy hitters as, Richard Gere, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and Cate Blanchett. The soundtrack will carry the voices of Stephen Malkmus of Pavement, the Hold Steady, Calexico and Willie Nelson, all giving their best renditions of Dylan classics. Rumored to be making vocal appearances are Michael Stipe of REM and PJ Harvey."

His best movie is Safe with Julianne Moore. Fantastic film. (y)

Yeah -- I couldn't even sit through Velvet Goldmine. Far from Heaven isn't bad, but Safe is the one that deserves italics.

I don't know what it is but despite her popularity amongst exceptional directors....I don't care for her as an actress....despite "Magnolia" or because of "Boogie Nights"......I don't know....I think it's purely physical......

She was awful in Magnolia, and played a pretty awful person in Boogie Nights, so I can see that.

Check out Safe. Seriously. She's great, the movie's great, the movie's odd, it looks fantastic....

I wish someone would release Eat the Document. You get to see Dylan, high, throw up in the back of a limo he's sharing with a horrified Lennon. That would be cool.

And who are said Million Dollar Bashers? It's Wilco's god-like guitarist Nels Cline, Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley (from Sonic Youth), bass player Tony Garnier, keyboardist John Medeski (from Martin, Medeski and Wood), and guitarist Smokey Hormel (onetime Beck guitarist, Smokey & Miho). I never thought I'd hear musicians from those bands all jam together. The guitar solo (assumedly from Nels?) is pretty blazing, and Vedder's got the seething caged scream goin' on.

I'm liking this (http://a1373.g.akamai.net/7/1373/26057/v001/bmgdv.download.akamai.com/3080/production/HTTP/712038_01_01_full.swf?auth=caEaRaZd1cVbJdLdBdbdwdi cGb.cfdgaxd6-bho7Xr-vga-nvqmGEx).
