OMFG. i just got one, and it's super cheap, but it's already my favorite kitchen tool. (sorry rice cooker, crock pot and hand mixer.) tonight i made marinated tofu fajitas on it, and seriously, they were better than what i get from my favorite mexican place around here. i'm in love.

'splain. Did you only put the tofu in the pan?
Or post a picture.

Never used one before. Is it a cast iron or non-stick grill pan? Also did you use it in the oven? They look pretty cool, I've seen them around, just never thought about one till now. Does that pan leave a grill burn on your food?

What makes them more desirable than a broiler tray? I read where folks use them in the oven to cook steaks, that sounds pretty messy to me.

it's a cheap nonstick grill pan (though there are seasoned cast-iron ones out there) that was $15 at ikea! i use it on my gas stove (not sure how it would work on an electric range) and it left my tofu nice and crisp on the outside with some pretty sweet-looking grill lines. i know my mom uses hers to cook fish and veggies all the time. it's small enough that it's easy to clean. i'll put up some pics of the dinner i made last night - it was ridiculously delish given the amount of effort that went into it. i spent maayyybe 15, 20 minutes making the marinade, let it sit for a few hours, then chopped up bell peppers and onions and tossed them on the grill with the tofu.

I think grill pans were specifically made to make bomb ass fajitas on. Welcome to the club.
