Beastie Boys will headline the U.S. Virgin Fest, set for Aug. 4-5 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Md.

From what I read its the second year the festival is held.

Well...Chicago's Lollapalooza is scheduled that same weekend. Damn.

So what other Chicago festivals are there?

Chili Peppers were there last year, I believe. I didn't go because tickets were something like $70 for the day and I didn't think it was worth it since I wasn't that excited over the bands going.

But Beastie Boys and Smashing Pumpkins? I completely let out a girlish squeal at my desk when I read that. My head's about to explode. So fucking excited. (y)

They just need to do a 50 city tour - one in each state - and that way everyone will get to have a better chance to see them. They can ever come up with a Festival name for each place they play. Since I am in Mississippi - guess mine would have to be Mississippi River Festival or I guess it could have something to do with Mississippi Mud....hmmm

I thought that was the name of the international Star Trek convention in south California?

HA! Virginfest is sponsored by Virgin mobile. So that's where the name comes from.
