No, why the hell would I want to talk to him/her? You don't think I know how to handle my own money, teller lady? Go stick it up your ass!

they just want to to know if they'll give you more of your money to them to invest and make a commission on. Are you working for your money or is your money working for you? they want to make your money work for you, while making a nice salary for themselves as well.;)

A teller that looks at your balance and recommends a financial advisor is like a drive thru attendant at McDonalds looking at your fat gut and recommending a dietician. It may be prudent but is not their place in life.

That's ridiculous. Their motives are purely altruistic

Where do you live? If you're anywhere but the US then you hold the strings:eek:

california, USA.

My employer is paying for my education to pass the series 7 which would allow me to trade on the stock market. that's why I stay here with as little pay as I get for all the crap I deal with. once I'm licenced I can make double what I make now, and I'll most likely leave here to do so else where...unless I get a significant pay raise.

Push it in and out at a medium pace.

Series 7 is a joke//All the frustration~none of the $. It all boils down to whether or not you can sell on a phone. Do you have the skills?

meh. I don't know. To be honest this isn't my passion or anything I'm all that into. but I didn't feel it was wise to turn down free education. I figure why not learn it, I'll figure out what to do with it later.

though honestly I have no idea what someone would do with a public relations degree (already have it) and a series 7 licence on top o' that. maybe I can also take up brain surgery on the side.

Life is one big learning curve. Enjoy the ride. But in my experience: you're either a saleman or not. It can't be taught as an elective at a fancy pants college nor does a piece of paper that says you graduated from XYZ impress anyone.

If you don't have a killer instinct with the guy you work with right now that intimidates him then you're no more than a glorified secretary

A) the guy I work for is a moron. but he' been doing this 18 years so I figure it can't be that hard.

b) yeah...really I'm not a sales person. I'm a PR person. PR is more about relationships than closing a deal.

c)I am a glorified secretary. but with a series 7 I can be a glorified secretary for someone else and make more money. so that's the idea....for now...until I change my mind again and decide to do something else.

God Bless You and Your Dreams

A. Think of it this way. He's an idiot huh? Guess what. People have him managing their $. So there are bigger idiots out there

B. You could end up being a Customer Relation Person~ Which is really the shitty end of the stick

C. Think about being a Veterinarian that has the afterschool help but the animals to sleep
