Has Kathleen and Adrock ever did anything musical together? If not, wonder if they ever will do/release something. I have only heard one song by her and Le Tigre and I thought she was pretty talented and we all KNOW that he is also!!!

He's credited as 41 Small Stars on the remixes. Le Tigre put out a remix ep to help you track down at least one of them. They're easy to find on p2p.

No idea when Kathleen/Adrock became an item, but Mike D. interviewed her for Grand Royal Magazine.

Supposedly Kathleen made the Julie Ruin album in North Carolina before she moved to Brooklyn. The story they gave interviews was that Le Tigre came together so she would have band for a Julie Ruin tour, but I don't think that happened, honestly, since the first Le Tigre show was in this cramped Queer performance space that did punk shows, and it was a big deal they were playing. I think the real story is she moved to Brooklyn and had a lot of time on her hands when her boyfriend went away on tour, and she had already collaborated with Sadie Benning on pixelvision short films for MTV promos in the 90's (Kathleen did voice overs, no music), and been in a band with Justine already. The original concept was meant to be more along the lines of Tracy and the Plastics. JD was a bit of a groupie who went on their first tour selling merch, and driving the van before throwing Sadieand her toy camera off a cliff.

Kathleen's the one who describes Adrock teaching them how to use the SP-1200, but maybe she just means he taught her the "proper" way of using it, or maybe she just thinks it sound like a good story? Some of that first Le Tigre record sounds very BS2000 to my ears...and if you ask me, the way they flipped The Archies sample on "My Metrocard" sounds a lot more finessed than other songs.

yes the first time i heard my my metrocard it sounded so much like bs2000 to me that i actually thought i had downloaded the wrong song but then kathleen's voice kicks in and that reassured me that it indeed was a le tigre song.
