View Full Version : Solo Tip?

If they went solo, do you think they would just do hip-hop, or do diverse styles? I could imagine MCA being heavier on other types of music, Adrock (not as BS2000) would possibly have a bunch of guest M.C's over top of his beats (and do a little rhyming himself). But the bhangra-dance kid, Michael D would probably throw together something so bizarre, it would be bizarre.
I could see at least one of them wanting to keep doing music after the end of the group (make that a day fairly far away, please).
Why am I posting this? It's called studying for a test.
Add if you please your thoughts.
i would put Mike down as the 'ft. Mike D from the Beastie Boys' type of rapper... sorta like what Snoop does. or even the opposite... him making a solo album with lots of collabs. Adrock would definately be behind the scenes more - producer type roles for artists here and there. MCA... i could see him just hanging up the mic and settling down if they went solo RIGHT now. sorta just slowly moving out of the scene without any problems.
i don't reckon they could ever just... be by themselves. they'd be like wu-tang and just sorta always stick to each other. they'd all still be involved heavily with hip-hop, no doubt.

Adrock seems to love hip-hop the most (whatever that means) so I guess he'd try and stay in it somehow. Producing with a few guest spots here and there sounds about right.
Mike always seemed the most reluctant to rap, like I heard when they were doing TT5B he took the longest to get his shit in gear in terms of writing and recording. He would probably slip into more instrument work or singing or some shit.
MCA is the best rapper of the three in my opinion, I would hope that he would carry on appearing on other people's shit or maybe even have a solo career. I think that could work.

If that's true, he certainly came off as the best of the three on TT5B I think.
I agree with tzar, too. They'd always be involved in each other's work. MCA would possibly get into film a bit more.
A Mike D solo album would be bonkers. VERY good sensibility for the nice sounds. Adrock and MCA too, in different ways. I get the feeling these two have a deep bag of influences that they don't really allow to show. I dunno. I could see MCA getting together a band. Adrock kind of going the production/mc thing, but they're all so experimental it could go any way.

True, but I seem to remember hearing that Horovitz even wrote some of his rhymes for him to speed the process along. Maybe I'm misremembering shit, but I think I heard that somewhere around the time of release.

If I had to put money on what they might do when dooms day beckons...I'd say all 3 of them will probably throw down the mics and just go into producing.

I reckon Adrock will always be in some way making music. He will always keep rapping.
MCA also. An even Mike who knows ? I reckon they will always in some way be making music, together or not together.
