a good friend of mine had an Hamster called Johnny ( Rotten ) and he hoard so much food in his cheeks that he was to fat to enter his little House ...... crazy old Boy ...r.i.p.

Hamster comes from a German word "hamstern" which means "to hoard"

Because hamsters tend to carry away food from their food source in their pouches and hoard it away in a cache hidden somewhere in their container.
:D Haha, you know your german. But it's the other way around, the "hamstern" was coined cause they fill their cheek pouches and people had to fill caches during wartime.
BTW I'd name him "Breakfast"... :D
