yes, that's right folks - unemployment.
no more below minimum wage pay, no more bogans who can hardly read bossing me around, and no more nastiness from fellow co-workers who dislike me because of my post high school education.

i've just had enough of all the bullshit going on. doing the work was fine, and i was good at it, just that the people i had to work with bullied me till i left. i found most of it very degrading, being treated like an idiot when i was keeping things under control. and also, the pay was terrible. probably illegal. but thanks to the howard government, there's not a lot i can do about it now.

oh and most importantly - some of the practices in the store regarding the treatment of some animals were absolutely disgusting. there were things that we weren't allowed to say, or tell anyone about so the RSPCA wouldn't find out. i couldn't deal with that shit, and being part of it.
well, they will be finding out IN DETAIL now and can possibly look forward to being shut down.

And I don't know whether to congratulate you or sympathize.
well, a bit of both maybe. it's shitty because now i'm out of work and i have to start all over again. and i loved the animals. that was the one thing that kept me there. they were all like my own.
but it's good because i don'thave to work 50+ hours a week for the shittiest wage imaginable, to only get bossed around by idiot bogans. and there will always be animals for me to look after.

$10 an hour, and i'm 21.
lawl. I made $7.45 an hour for working in a privately owned maximum security prison as a correctional officer for 7 months.
I then quit that job and got a $10.80 an hour job to work in a state owned medium security one. Both jobs were in Louisiana and it's considered to be "good pay" there.
I'll never work for less than $16 an hour now. Fuck all the bullshit.

you know, i'm pretty sort of sure that the minimum wage here for someone my age is at least $12. i was certain from the beginning that i was being majorly fucking ripped off.

I'm not sure how Australia is but over in the states, minimum wage has nothing to do with age. It applies to anyone old enough to work and it just varies from state to state.
Shit, I think it's $7 an hour or something here in NY and I don't see how people can possibly live off that.

meh that is total suckage, z. sorry :( i know you disliked the circumstances of the job but loved the animals. it was obvious you got joy out of that aspect. so in that regard, many kind thoughts beamed from my general area to you.
maybe this will be a good point to draw a line under the whole experience and look forward to a new work environment that is actually, you know, positive and cost effective. good luck!
