The funny thing is, we're a laid-back library so I eat and yell curse words all the time. Which is a bad thing, because I'm in a position where I can't see if patrons just walked in through the front door.
ahahhaha awkward

Yay!
When i was a kid i always wanted to work in a library and when i was 16 i worked in one for 2 weeks on work experience at school. It was only a small branch library, not many people came in during the day - mostly old people who read large print romance and western novels.
I loved it!

Anyone want some technical books? I can't lend them out to anyone outside the agency, but uh, maybe I can transcribe a few chapters.
Nah, fuck it. I'm not that bored.

Can you do an author search for Prab Bhatt?
He's a lecturer of mine and he's written a shitload of books.
Amma just curious to see how far his 'influence' has gone i suppose. I think he's an arsehole.

One of my wife's ex co-workers was waaaay into technical books. I mean, he would literally just pick one up about anything and read them. What a weirdo. A cool weirdo though.

Nope. Unless he's written technical books that can provide information for projects my agency works on, he wouldn't be in our system. We're a smaller library, we only go out and get stuff if our patrons request it. And apparently they don't like your lecturer.

That's every single tenured professor at University of Maryland right there. I love how my Nazi Germany teacher told us we had to get TWO of his books for his course, because that just reeks of "Yay! More book sales!" to me. I borrowed one of his books and didn't bother with the other one. I mean, one of the final exam essays was on his book and I don't know who would ever want to touch that one because you have to be 100% correct or you just KNOW he'd mark down. I took the Goebbels and influence of propaganda on the public question instead. </nerd>
CJ, alas, I probably am the naughty librarian. But in the foul-mouthed off-color way.
