you know i bought that game but i just couldn't get into it

it's like they give you too much freedom in making your characters, to the point where i don't really know what i'm doing. i liked FF10 better, where it was like "this guy's the mage, this guy's the fighter, this guy's the ranged attacker", etc. with FF12, anything goes, and i have no idea what to do with anybody

plus it seems really hard. the quickenings make short work of early hard enemies, if you know what you're doing (or if you're lucky), but if you try to fight them straight, you get your ass kicked. and i hear that later enemies get so hard that even quickenings won't really work, so i have no interest in seeing that.

i quit right around some desert area. there was this big floating fireball roaming around for some reason that was like 30 levels above any of my characters. he was green, which according to my understanding meant that it wouldn't attack me unless i attacked it first, so i left it alone. but i started fighting some other nearby enemies, and the fireball decided it wanted to join in, and it cast a spell that killed every single one of my party members in one hit. i switched in the other 3 and tried to run, but it cast the spell again and they all died. so i gave up

I watched my cousin play that game when peeking up from my psp from time to time. I must have watched him kill about five billion wolves and cactus like creatures.

I'm glad I was playing Pirates and GTA:LC during all this or I might have slit my wrists.

yeah it seems like you have to kill shit just to level up in order to progress, i hate that shit. FF10 had relatively little of that, that's one of the reasons i like it.

FF12 just seems kind of like an MMORPG that you play by yourself

i WANT to like it, because i love how they've disposed of random battles finally, but i dunno, i just can't. to be honest i preferred the old turn based battle system, i don't like the gambit system in the new one. it's too fast paced, i can't keep track of what's going on, i'm just looking at status bars and stuff, i can't even watch the fight.

It's a little bit like FF8 in the sense that i've only bothered working up 3 characters out of 7 or some shit, so i have team awesome and team fodder. It's far more open than the rest of the FF games, but thats what i like about it. I used to be mad into online MMORPGs and played MiR for a long time but got bored of it.

I dunno, cant be arsed bashing out lots. It does have a lot to it, and i've really not bothered too much with gambits and the like but despite that i still find it the best FF yet.
