ask yauch to PM you to hook you up with a backstage pass (guess i just asked him for you) YOU are the main guy from Ireland on these boards, and I'd bet you any money Yauch knows who you are from all your posts and remixes

If it happens DO NOT brag about it.. not even on the hub.. everyone would be trying to get hook-ups and that would piss him off for sure..

If I was Yauch or whoever from the Beastie camp.. I would do it.. not like you are a stranger or anything.. this would be a great thing for the one in Ireland who deserves it!

I went to the same festival last year, solely to see DJ Shadow, and it was good craic, but i kinda said i'd never go back to a festival just to see one act again, its a long , expensive weekend. If i hadn't of seen them in '04 it might be different, but ill probably be giving this a miss.

Plus if its an instrumental/no-rap show id be pissed.

Will I be the only one present then? I just got tickets. Never been to Electric Picnic before but I've always wanted to go, I'm interested in the other acts too. Kind of refreshing to give Oxegen a miss this year.

I've never seen the Beasties live before so it'll be a first for me. :)

Electric Picnic is generally alot of fun, its much better than Oxegen, which has become, let's face it, a scum-bag fest.

It really has. I went to Oxegen in '05 and '06, and while '05 was fab and rather uneventful, all my clothes got stolen in the year of '06 and our tent got slashed and destroyed. Sigh. A friend of mine also got hypothermia because the weather was so bad (as opposed to the beautiful weather we had in '05). Besides all that it was still okay, but... it made me really not care about giving it a miss this year. Heh.

I'm still bitter about my clothes getting stolen. One of my favourite band t-shirts was taken too. :( It was so cold I had to spend the last of my money on two band t-shirts from merch stalls just to keep warm. Memories...

You'd never know, they might play a second instrumental gig as a surprise.

Overall, I'm only going because of the Beasties. I usually give festivals a skip, but I'll go to see the Beasties. This year theres also a Circus, as well as the comedy gigs, etc.

Apparently there's also a Yoga tent, and other holistic services. Someone should tell Mike D.

There's also a political debate tent, they should all get in there. ;)

I think there's a tent at Electric Picnic where you can get married too. Not sure if it's legitimately or not. Just sayin'. That'd be an interesting way to get hitched...

OK...just read at the EP forum that the Beasties will be playing TWICE: once on the main stage and once in the Electric Arena (smaller tent), prob for their instumental gig!! Woo-ha! This was posted by a moderator here (http://forum.electricpicnic.ie/viewtopic.php?t=21195&start=42)

Brilliant!! God, I really can't wait for it now. It'll definitely make the savings I dropped on EP worth it. :p

(lb) I got tickets for the Paris gig too. Got tickets for the picnic as well, the picnic an instrumental set. I don't think they're headlining it either.

Yeah, EP only does full three-day tickets. Make it worth the price though, I guess. There's a lot of stuff to do there besides watch bands.

I think it's sold out now anyway! These things always go fast.
