Its not from the movie. the version I have is over 3 minutes long. I told the story before but it was sort of distorted.
way back in 98, I came across an ebay auction of the song. The seller said he was selling it to the biggest, die hard beastie fan (in other words, the guy with the most money.)
I paid over $70 for it. :(

It was me who circulated that track. I was selling it with a sealed copy of MCA and Burzootie. The tape was just supposed to be a bonus but everybody flipped out over desperado. It came from a guy who's friend worked at American records. The problem is that it was recorded so low and transferred on tape so the hiss is way up there. Plus it was a demo anyway. It was the rest of the mixtape that was dope though. Tears for Fears with The New Style can't be faded and then Pass the Mic into Shame in Your Game = heeeet.

thanks to me.
Do the Beastie Boys own that song or does Def Jam?
I wish Def Jam would just re-release "Licensed to Ill" as a deluxe edition and add all of the other songs recorded for the label.
PS I can't believe you paid $70 for that..

Im sure DEF JAM owns it. sad, though. I would love for them to release it.
I know, $70 was a lot but I made it back later on.

Time for a petition, methinks.
If Def Jam tried to release it, would the Beastie Boys protest?
The use of the word 'faggot' at the end of the third verse might cause problems.

Gap Band are so powerful that Mars dedicated one of their song to his wife while he was carrying her to a hospital to deliver his son. I think it was Outstanding

"desperado" was a song that recycled from an earlier song called "scenario" also unreleased.

thanks to me.
If someone has a problem with me hosting it, just let me know.
I received it from someone who saw that people on the boards were looking for it, and he came through with a much improved version than the one that's been floating around. It was a donation to the site.

Gap Band are so powerful that Mars dedicated one of their song to his wife while he was carrying her to a hospital to deliver his son. I think it was OutstandingFunny. It's actually on the delivery room mix that she made for the first born -- along with Luther Vandross and some other stuff. We didn't need it the second time, though, as the boy was ready to enter the world before we could have hit play.
I saw Gap Band live in a small club a few years back. It was amazing!
