what is wrong with my cat? he is usually a good boy!
advice for behavior problems? I feel like he started this asshole business since we started giving him these treats called Greenies. also, I started giving him catnip.

get a newspaper and pretend like it's really important that you read it. george will obviously then want to lay on the newspaper, and then you can clean up the pancake mix.

spray 'em with water.
serious. when we had cats the vet was like YO, if they piss on the floor, spray them with a bottle of water, just lightly, and it'll LEARN 'EM.
that, or starvation.

Agreed. Water bottles. Make sure he doesn't see where it's coming from though, because he needs to associate "walking on fireplace mantle" with "random water gets in my fur" and not realize it's you. It works better that way.
Also, don't give him catnip. It turned my cat into a crazed asshole too.

No to the water bottle. You'll give him a complex when it comes to water and if you ever plan to throw him in the tub....good luck!

Nah. Other than yowling, I never had problems with my cats with that sort of thing.
Basically, you don't take any shit from cats and they very quickly learn to just deal with it.
Also, don't fill the tub too high. A few inches of water is all you need, and it's less scary for them.

You're not supposed to wash kitties though. They do that themselves.

my cat likes to climb on my tv set and make noise or use my boxspring as a scratching post at 6-6:30 am. she does it so I'll let her outside. which I get up and do like her little kitty bitch. but I figure she has to piss so I guess I don't blame her.

You've never had occasion when they got into a mess and needed a bath?

cats don't eat pancakes!
I think he's just getting sick of cold weather. he wants the windows to be open. he also wants to have his favorite food that my roommate sometimes buys, all the time anytime everytime. but that creamy gourmet stuff is too expensive!
I should get out the water bottle I guess. so far he listens to me anyway, I say, "NO! NUH UH! YOU GET DOWN FROM THERE!" in my low "teacher" voice and he gets down. but he doesn't stop trying, so it's annoying. he'll stand on a desk by the fireplace and look at the mantle and look at us, and we go "nnoooooo" and he'll stop, or jump up there and then we yell and he gets right down.
bastard.

I bought him some cat grass! to chew on! so he doesn't have to beg for treats, he can just go gnaw on some wheat grass. he likes it so far. (y)

Honestly, no. The most my kitties got into was running into the garage and getting into my dad's car and getting a little greasy. When that happens, we just take a slightly damp wash cloth (not wet) and rub their fur until it comes out. They never like, jumped into mud pits or anything that would require an actual bath. :p

george had a bath once when he had fleas. he hated it and splashed and moaned so much, the bathroom ended up getting the bath. it was pretty funny though. and also it didn't work. the fleas came back stronger...probably because we must have washed some of his medicine off.
no more baths for george. he's a clean little monkey anyhow. mochi's the stinky one. bad breath, poopy butt. blech.

AHHH! he loves them so much though. hmm. well, he loves his urinary tract health vitamins too, so maybe we'll just stick to those.

atleast put the basket over him and pretend he's a turtle when he walks around pushing it trying to get out.

when i was in law school, my roommate had 2 cats, indy and jeffy. indy adored me, jeffy was indifferent. but one day i woke up and jeffy was on my chest, just staring at me. i swear he was planning to eat me in my sleep because he felt he didn't have enough food.
