This (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1552359/20070213/id_0.jhtml) quote from Rick Rubin sounds promising...

Weezer: "Rivers [Cuomo] just gave me some demos, the first round for this album," Rubin said. "I'm trying to get my head clear to really just dive in."

Excellent news...while by no means a confirmation, I feared Make Believe might have been there last.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rivers tried to go solo or something.

Do we really need another one? Rivers should retire to Japan with his geisha girls.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Rivers had no desire to make a solo album...

Which is good....lead singers going solo always bugged me.

I think he doesn't need to make a solo record because he's kind of a nazi in the band in terms of musical ideas. As far as I know he writes most if not all of the songs and tells the other guys what to play for their parts.

I am looking forward to new Weezer. I was sort of confused by Make Believe, didn't really know what he was going for and didn't really like it.

Yeah...he's been known to exert complete control over the band. I read somewhere that he used to view the other members as "expendable"....from what I've heard though he's toned down a bit, and the stuff Rick Rubin got him into (mediation) has done wonders...

Make Believe was quite solid in my opinion. A return to form...it had elements of Pinkerton and the Blue Album. And if it does prove to be Weezer's last, if you ask me, they went out with a bang...

I never listened to Make Believe.... just never really was crazy about picking it up.

I'm mostly into their early stuff anyway, Pinkerton was awesome (y)
