all this week i've been witnessing "overweight" people eat large amounts of junk food
i was at mcdonald's in the drive thru to get some grub cuz i hadn't eaten for 6 hours so i got those chicken strips thingies but it took so long to order cuz the SUV in front of us with a fat chick driving by herself was taking 15 long minutes to order, i overheard the total thru the speakers & it was around $48, almost 50 bucks at mcdonald's, mickie d's the cheapest fast food joint probally ever, seems like she ordered the whole damn menu. but i can understand maybe it wasn't all for her maybe she was ordering for the family. whatever
but today i was walking to the liquor store with my friend & on the way we saw a girl that goes to our school, she has actually been diagnosed obese, she leaves the 7-11 with 2 plastic bags full of several party sized hot cheetos bags , boxes of cookies & soda, while she's eating some chips. one day in our history class our friend miguel says to us "u know that girl is ALWAYs eating" and we turn around to look at her & she's sneaking bites of candy from her backpack, WTF? also she doesn't try shit in P.E class, when we run miles she walks the whole thing, never gives any effort at all.
i sound like a bitch i know but seriously does she not care that she's killing herself?

Either she does not care that she's killing herself
Or she does not believe that she's killing herself (denial)
Or she cares that's she's killing herself but something else more important is going on (likely some unfulfilled need --security, acceptance, attention, what have you-- that is somehow related)

What disturbs me is the fact that you and your friend were walking to a goddamned liquor store!

What's disturbing about that? ha ha. The only way she could be kind of hypocritical is if she drank in excess to the amount of an alcoholic.
shes only like 11 years old

Then she should be drinking at least 15 pints of beer or a litre of spirits a day!

it isn't really age, it's experience. i think it makes more of a difference when you're younger, even if it's only a few years off. and, uh, that 27 year age gap you're talking about would probably make a big difference as well. :p
edit - and me & yauch only have a 26 year age gap so HA!

"liquor store" is just the umbrella term for convenience stores that sell candy and other shit. they don't sell just liquor. some places like that exist - in the south i know they have "package stores," but here we just call them liquor stores.
anyway. the psychology of overeaters is really impossible and unfair to judge. most likely they DO know what they are doing, but there are underlying issues that are far, far deeper than you can imagine that hold them back from change. when someone has been overweight for his or her entire life, for example, and lacks any self-esteem and has a very negative self-image...it's not as simple as just not eating junk food.

It's like internet dependency.
That's not a jab. Many of us have it.
