that a couple CANNOT get married if they have not been seriously dating for a year, at the very least. hell, maybe two years.

They should also be required to go on a long trip together before they get married.

That would be awesome, it would help with the divorce numbers, if only a little.
Another good law would be if you had to obtain a license in order to have a child.
Ok its not possible but it would be nice if it was.:D

my parents knew each other for like two weeks before marrying. and they've been successfully married for 22 years without any problems.

My mom knew within a couple of dates that she was going to marry my dad. I think they were together for a year at most before getting married. And over a quarter of a century later they are still together.

this is more to stop my friends fiance from throwing her engagement ring at me again. well, she threw it at him. but it hit me. some people just rush into this shit way too fast, what the fuck are wrong with people? i know you're in love, but cant you wait until you're both ready? be a little responsible and realistic maybe?
