damn, just got my Paris tickets, although it sounds like live earth tickets will be a lottery.
Never thought they'd be on the same gig as Madonna again!:D

Just found these on My Space (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=159007056) last night, but I had no idea Beasties were gonna be on it and that it was gonna be this big!

But a happening on the Antarctica?
Isn't that like blowing your own candle? (or whatever saying you've got for things like that...)

Still not really into this Live Earth thing, but I'm not complaining about seeing another Beastie Boys live performance so (y).

If that wasn't half-way around the world, I would definately make someone get me tickets for it since it's on my birthday. (!)

EVERYONE IMAGINE THIS FOR A SECOND:
the b-boys in front of 40-50,000 brits

judging by the way they rocked T-int he park in 98

it could be MEGA

but then again, that was when hello nasty hit, and intergalactic was the most beatacular song of the year

but hey

i think they

can
still
pull
it
off

Waited for years for the lads to play in Ireland - they're playing at a 3-day festival (Electric Picnic)...don't wanna spent 3 days in a tent. Gave it a miss.

But...

Got my tickets for Live Earth today in London.

Then realised I'll be on holidyas when its on. Sickened.

Early I know, but I was thinking about what they'll play...

I'm assuming there won't be enough time to attempt an instrumental/hip hop crossover so I'm guessing they'll just do some classics (Sure shot, Intergalactic etc) over a 20 min-ish slot. They could rip through 4 or 5 tracks I reckon. Potential comment on global warming too from one of them, but hopefully that will be a slight divertion from getting the crowd moving!

My only thought on them playing instrumental stuff is if they'd see it as an oppourtunity to promote the new record, or at least Capitol would certainly push for them to. And going on the notion that they're playing on the new tracks - thus potential lead singles etc - you'd expect them to play their new song, which could be a hit too (so the public would also expect them to). I'm just thinking if they play one song instruments then the whole short set might as well be.

Or they could just surprise me and do a nifty gear swap as they do and play 5 or 5 hip hop tunes and songs with instruments.

edit: unlucky Wobblemouth, should just brave the tents mate. Or save up for a nearby hotel!
