so, I just finally did my taxes, and because I was underemployed last year, I figured I'd get a fat return. NOPE. I entered my first W-2 and the little tax machine said up in the corner that I was getting back $800, so I was all, "woo hoo!" BUT I entered my 2nd W-2 and it went down to $220. :( fuckers. stupid second job. I don't think they should've teased me like that.
so much for paying off bills. *cries*

Have a kid and buy a house.
I did both last year, and I'm getting back about 8 grand.

Or stay in school, I got back nearly two thou.
buy a house.
a-fuckin-men. The first time I did my taxes after buying a place, I had a boner with the refund amount I got.
I'm doing mine tonight, so I'm hoping for a nice fatty check. I'm just hoping that it doesn't take 4-6 weeks to get deposited into my bank account. 2 - 3 weeks would be super nice.

Yeah, but wouldn't the price of those two outweigh the tax return?

The kid, prolly. the house...no.
If you are paying $1500 in rent a month you don't get anything back. If you have a mortgage payment of $1500 a month, you probably will get a decent amount back for the interest paid.
Its nice.

Yeah I had to pay $800 two years ago because my fucking dentist I work for has no idea how to take out taxes properly, and I didn't pick up on it until it was too late. Every year he does them improperly, no matter what my forms say. I just gave up on correcting him and suck it up. Plus, I got money back from my regular job so it kinda balanced out.
Still though, (n)

I pay $416/month in rent and probably around $100 in utilities. livin cheap and simple. I made $18,000 last year, probably 12,000 of which was made in the last 3rd. :( ah, but I didn't starve.
I WANT MY $800!!! I was tempted to delete my 2nd w-2, but I figure they probably have it recorded somehow. and like tax fraud is wrong or something.

I'm pretty sure I'll owe money because I won stuff last year.
BOOOOOO.
I have yet to reap the benefits of the cruise I won. Hopefully in July.
I have yet to do my taxes too. This weekend, it's on ;(

ugh. I think I'll do mine tonight. it's only 1 w2 so it should be easy. I hope I get some kind of return. *crosses fingers* I'll be so bumbed if I have to pay AGAIN. I think they hold plenty $ out my pay check. that's what I think. I hope uncle sam agrees.

I remember when I was like the rest of you and filed only 5 days before the deadline. Shit, I remember those days when I threw it in the mail the day before. But this year I found out I was getting over a thousand back, I was so excited I threw it in the mail in February! Hooray for money!
can't you just undo the second one?

Wait... so having a second job will totally fuck up all the money I'm used to getting back? Granted, it's not all that much... but I'd hate for it to only be $220.
Oh wait... that was about all I got back from the federal government. But I got another $200-something from the state. Taxes suck, dude. Totally not dooga.
Haha, we're procrastinators. I was employed for 6 months by some fucktard corporate entity and they didn't take Federal out because I was "part-time". This is why I've waited so long, methinks.
Methinks; it's borderline piratespeak.

if you haven't yet used the cruise, it is not yet income to you. so, even if you won it last year, it doesn't go on last year's taxes to be filed now. and the cruise company can't write it off on their taxes either until you use it. did they send you something by the end of january to use for taxes? if so, that's wrong.

nay, that's tax fraud. it was only $5000, I didn't think it'd make that big of a difference. meh. I should've just pretended I forgot to enter it. I had the option to delete it, but really I don't need the trouble if it turns out they record every keystroke anyway. small potatoes, but honesty is the best policy. I guess. :/

quit yer sniveling, I owe $1477 to the Damn Yankees and $783 to the Federales...
I bend over every year around April, and Ive never understood why... usually I get a small federal return, and NY screws me every year...
this year I'm really taking it hard... maybe things will change in CA
Wait what about keystrokes?! That's not possible. Wouldn't that be an invasion of privacy?
I tend to forget things so I probably forgot one of mine. Yeah.

Who said April 15 was tax day? Did you know, if you owe money, you're paying penalties every day after 12/31/06 until it's paid?
Taxes are a necessary part of our high standard of living, blah, blah, blah. I actually wouldn't mind paying my fair share, but I think I pay MORE THAN that, when compared to the people who make the most money in our inequitable taxation economy.
You think one kid is beneficial? Have a second and we can talk about DEDUCTIONS...
P.S. I'm not sure I'd trust a criminal defense attorney who gives tax advice.

I very sure that you don't get penalized after 12/31/06
I worked with my father at his tax preparer Biz this year, he's been doing taxes for over 40+ years
Now if you are getting a refund you have 3 years to April 15 to do that years return (no Penalties .... you will be paid interest on your previous years refund.
