I've just bought it. It's the best damn salsa album I have ever heard.

Funny, mine is 2/3 instrumental, and a little prog-rock.

I couldn't afford the limited edition one you have

Some of the instrumentals are pop-ish, some are almost 'heavy'. In an old fashioned way.

One of the tracks with vocals is called 'Got to See Me'. It's quite ethereal.(y) About 6 minutes long.

I'm liking the one called 'don't poop in my back sack'. I've never heard someone sucessfully mix salsa and punk together in such commendable fashion. (y)

Funky gospel/salsa mix.

but if it is the real thing (i doubt it tho) theres a parental advisery sticker, that means vocals...dirty vocals...that dispells the "no lyrics" rumors.

still i doubt its legit ya know?

Oddly enough, I believe it. Some of the trackslisted on that pic were written on an dry erase board in those early studio pics from a south american magazine article. Also the pic is recent, but I haven't seen it and goes in line with the the suits they've been wearing recently. Also the #'s listed as the album name are all the prime #'s scrambled up. Beyond that HR has been in their studio recording the new bad brains album. I'm not crazy about how it looks but it may not be a hoax. Who really fucking cares though it's what's on the album that really counts.

Sesamehole

I was wrong saw the pic on the sasquatch site, still think it's true.

Also the #'s listed as the album name are all the prime #'s scrambled up.

4, 6, 8 and 9 are not prime numbers. The title that appears on that thing is a left to right back to left string of the numbers 1-9 with spaces in between filled by the returning set.

1 (9) 2 (8) 3 (7) 4 (6) 5.

Brother McDuff

the fact that we haven't received any title, release date, or single at this point means one of two things:

a) the album will not be released as early as june as expected...

or

b) the promotional budget/push is going to be very modest and minimal.

...though i feel both of these possibilities are highly, and equally plausible.

Lo_Lyfe
04-22-2007, 05:58 AM
I say delay it until next year.

Unless they're trying to keep it a secret I can't see the album coming out for a June as the marketing machine would've kicked in by now. Looks like a July/August release.

yeah i was thinking that too but it could also be a quickie marketing, i think nas' 1st single came out only a few weeks before the album dropped (HHID)

(y) that's very possible, Hello Nasty came out on the same date of their Paris show in 98.

I don't think this is going to be a 'proper' album like the ones we are used to, I think it is going to be mostly instrumentally based as reports have suggested and will be released and forgotten quickly from the public/commercial eye....i.e. maybe no singles or radio play.

Whether the same will happen amongst the fans is another question......I feel it may be a very experiemental album not made for major success, but more something the beasties themselves have wanted to put out and work on.
..we'll just have to wait for sure...

You may be right here. It sounds exactly like what happened for In Sounds and Aglio.

I would think there would be a bit more buzz since it's all new material and they are doing some Gala Events. But then again, Aglio was new material and they did the few Quasar shows and that was it.

thats the weird thing.....this mb wasn't around when Aligo and In Sounds dropped....so there was little buzz on radio, mtv, etc for those 2 releases........so i'm thinking (if this mb didn't exist) there wouldn't be any fanfare for this cd as well......

I remember I happened to see the Aglio cd in the store and knew nothing about it...I would check the beastie boys bins at record stores weekly back in the day...or ask a clerk if they had anything being released soon (that's how i found out about the Jimmy James ep and Root Down ep a week in advance) or ICE magazine helped too....wow i miss the scavenger hunts before the internet was so huge.....

0.000001% chance it's real but someone on another forum brought this to my attention. It's 'apparently' a leaked tracklist from a mastered mix which got sent to Capitol. I'm almost positive it's fake but it's a pretty good fake.

1. Ill Classical (3:43)
2. Dunking Over Nishita (:18)
3. The Scheme (4:07)
4. Retro Groovin' (2:58)
5. Somewhere Someday Somehow (3:32)
6. We Be Three (3:53)
7. Samatha (2:22)
8. Brooklyn Bloc Party (4:34)
9. Get Out of the Booth, Mike (:12)
10. Mr. Feedback (1:33)
11. The Melting Pot (2:49)
12. Men of Science (3:39)
13. Fever for the Mic (5:02)
14. Nolan's Law (3:02)
15. Zodiac (2:48)
16. Ode to T.D. (2:11)
17. NYC Rhapsody (6:46)

Yeh as the previous poster said, too many references to past songs and lyrics, but i do like the track lengths, I dont want the 2.45 min tracks with a repetitve format....i like there to be a variety, preferably between 2.50 and 5 mins.

i would not believe those to be the song titles. they mostly just sound like references to older song titles. i also dont think that they would name their album a shitload of numbers. we'll see what happens. but this is the real cover http://www.cenedella.com/images/album1e.jpg
