I've heard songs of his here and there. A lot of covers of his music too. I want to know what album to buy. I really like what I've heard but the guy's catalogue is massive from what I can tell.

There aren't that many albums, really, though. Maybe ten?

Personally,I think Leonard is a much better read than a listen....so I could really only suggest the "Best of..." or "More Best of..." as that's all I have....

If you include all the compilations and stuff, yeah. But he's only got twelve studio albums plus two live albums.

But, anyway -- I'd say go here (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&searchlink=LEONARD|COHEN&sql=11:aifrxql5ldte~T2) and listen to some samples, see what you think.

But that first album... that practically is a "best of." It's almost like buying the Cars' first album, in that way.
