Is Ween playing in your city this summer?

A few weeks ago, I got an email from a college friend saying that they were putting on a show in Allentown, PA (not far from their hometown) at a hotel as a warm-up show to their summer tour to try out some of their new material. Tickets sold out in like a day and a half. I was pretty :( for about a week, until I saw that they just added Pittsburgh to their tour and tickets go on pre-sale in 45 minutes. I still would have went to Allentown, but fuck it, I'll pay 27 bucks to save me a 4 hour drive. This will definitely be my highlight show of the summer.(y) (y) (y)

nah. they're staying around the east coast as of now. they're finishing up they're new album for an early fall release, as well as a possible e.p. for summer release. i envy you, they're one of my only favorite bands that i haven't seen live yet. please report back and let me know how the show went, though. :o

They played my backyard last night and it was amazing. They are definitely the best live show I've seen. They played a handful of new tracks that were outstanding. I guess this is Claude's first tour back from his horrific ordeal that landed him in the hospital for months and nearly killed him. The last song was Never Squeal in which Claude took off on a 20 minute drum solo, throwing his sticks everywhere and eventually just slapping the drums like Ike would Tina and when finished, the rest of the band hoisted him up on their shoulders while smiling and patting him on the back and fanning him off. It was pretty touching. Anyway, I'll post some pics later.(y)(y)(y)

A girl I know gave me a copy of The Friends EP. It's very different and strange (no shit). A brown mix of techno, disco, and reggae is about the best description you could get from me. 5 tracks that I will eventually dig just like everything else they've put out. This is the teaser, though. The barbecue/bong hit summertime sample before the album drops this fall. I'm sure they held back the thunder cuz I heard they played more than a few new tracks at bonnaroo and they put on one of the best shows.(y)
