They've announced the tracklisting and it seems to be a textbook Corgan line-up of angsty titles and pompous ideas. I just hope it returns to Siamese Dream-era sounds rather than the drudgery of their later output. I'm not holding my breath though...

Zeitgeist:

01 Doomsday Clock
02 7 Shades of Black
03 Orchid
04 That's the Way
05 Tarantula
06 Starz
07 United States
08 Never Lost
09 Bring the Light
10 Come On (Let's Go)
11 For God and Country
12 Pomp and Circumstance

hhmm - well, I thought it was on the breakfast show this morning but have just looked on the tracklisting and can't see it. So now I am questioning when I did hear it as I was listening Sunday and late last night too. Or it could have been Zane Lowe last night when I was washing up. When I worked out when I shall let you know *losing it*

So does anyone know what we're looking at here? Some serious rockin', or more of that Adore crap?

It would be so great if they went back to the Gish sound. I'm almost hyped about this. I want to be hyped.

Who's in the lineup? As of now I only know of Corgan and Chamberlin. Having Chamberlin back is a most definite plus.

Hey! I'm kind of happy with this. I could do without the gay backup vocals for the chorus though. They kind of ruin the song but everything is tight and smooth.

i like it, but i dont like the way the vocals are recorded. they sound like they're recorded in a booth, isolated where the rest of the song doesnt bleed into them.

I've seen them live yesterday and they were amazing. Typical of Billy, he started the set with Today and Bullet. The crowd went berzerk. After that it was a lot of new songs, and they sounded great. Everyone was rocking out. After some 'golden oldies' they ended the set with a 20 minute jam. Absolutely beautiful.
Strange thing about the band now is the new Bassist and Guitarist.
Pouty woman and Asian Guy... where have we seen that before?
Oh and they have a keyboard lady and they all wear strange black/white outfits.
Anyhoo, if you get the chance to see them then go! They still rule.

If it's just Billy and Jimmy isn't it Zwan?

I recall laughing merrily at them ending the TFC set in 96 with a 'jam' and Hurricane coming out and cutting their sound. I like a few of their songs, but they're a little bit out of the arsehole for me to really take seriously nowadays.

Heh, I forgot that Jimmy and Billy formed Zwan. I've only kept that cd long enough to purposely loose it. It just sounded so bleh.

The new song has actually led me in waiting for some good stuff. During Tarantula, I could hear alot of things that do resemble riffs and cooloffs from Gish and Siamese Dream.

Now if I could just find a place so I could find another song to listen to.

Is "That's the Way" a Led Zeppelin cover?
