They're a bunch of fuckin' idiots. Either that, or their computers tell them something different than mine tells me. Mine tells me:
Outstanding balance: $423
Transaction total: $310
Last statement: $113
Now, if you add up the transactions from this month and the transactions from last month, it adds up to $423. Okay, that would make sense for the outstanding balance - if I hadn't paid that $113. I did pay that $113. It posted to my bank account, it posted to the credit card's website, but for some reason it's still telling me my outstanding balance is $423. Okay, that's weird...I decide to call them.
They tell me "You owe $423 on the card." I say, "No, I paid $113. I should owe $310." And they explained that $423 is a snapshot of what I bought last month and this month...no, no, I get that. But it shouldn't say my OUTSTANDING BALANCE (aka what I OWE NOW) is $423 if I paid $113 towards that!
So I tell the guy "Look, my outstanding balance on the card SHOULD be $310. I SHOULD owe $310." And he said "How do you figure?" I said "I'VE HAD THE CARD FOR TWO GODDAMN MONTHS, I CHARGED IN TOTAL $423 FOR BOTH THOSE MONTHS, I PAID $113 FOR LAST MONTH, SO IF YOU TAKE THE TOTAL I'VE CHARGED TO THE CARD IN THE ENTIRETY THAT I'VE HAD IT ($423) AND SUBTRACT THE TOTAL I'VE PAID ON THE CARD IN THE ENTIRETY THAT I'VE HAD IT ($113) IT EQUALS $310, OR MY TRANSACTION TOTAL." My question to them is, why doesn't the outstanding balance take into account my payment?
"That's because you owe $423 on the card."
WHAT. THE. FUCK. They're not listening. And I'm so fucking frustrated I want to scream.
