...Moriarty at AICN raves about (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/32410) this new Star Wars book that's coming out. I guess the author used interviews from back in the days of production rather than the revisionist stuff George usually relies on.

Anyway, I thought this was particularly interesting:

"At one point, he wanted Toshiro Mifune to play Obi-Wan in Japanese, with subtitles, and he was going to cast the Princess as Japanese, too. If he did that, though, he wanted a black Han Solo, and at one point, Laurence Hilton-Jacobs (Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington from WELCOME BACK KOTTER) was the front-runner."

Anyway, read the article. Pretty neat. (y)

Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back are the good ones. Highly recommended. (y)

I was pretty much dragged kicking and screaming to Star Wars when it first came out, but my buddy Mike was nuts about it and wanted to see it again.

It's up there with RoboCop and Die Hard as movies-I-love-that-I-knew-I'd-hate. (y)

Makes sense as "Hidden Fortress" was Lucas's inspiration for the whole idea.......(y)
