There's never a lot of Menswe@r love these days but I was a fan! I saw them twice and managed to pluck up the courage to speak to the adorable Chris Gentry once after lots of cheap schnapps :o

Blur, Pulp and Supergrass. I used to be a huge oasis fan when I was 11, but now I just think they're 'kinda alright'.
Jarvis Cocker is pure sex. Ever listened to F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.?
That voice alone brings me near orgasm. Woooh.

Have you heard The Young Knives? They sound like Menswe@r covering the Sex Pistols...

Also; The Longpigs... 'She Said' was a genius pop song.

Yep, I do like them. Saw them supporting The Rakes last year and thought they were pretty good

That track is truely immense!

They're great live and all. This peformance ofCommon People (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hF_HLSVLwM&mode=related&search=) has to be one of the best concerts I ever attended. I was 15 and I thought it couldn't get any better... It didn't.

I once had the chance to see them play live (Lowlands festival 2001 I think) and stuff happened and I only heard the last song. :(
I'm still devastated.

Btw, what about the british bands now? I never know if they count as 'britpop' or not. I quite like Maximo Park and Art Brut. They're british and make pop music, so is it therefor britpop, or did it only exist ca. 1995?

supergrass put on one of the most amazing live shows i've ever witnessed. they played for well over 2 hours. every time you thought it was over, ho ho no! it's time for another song! and they kept up the pace the entire time. god, they were all drenched in sweat by the end. as was the audience.

I've seen them open for the foo fighters, and at the end little Danny Goffey mashed up his drumkit completely. With Taylor Hawkins if I remember correctly.
Actually, when you see mr. Goffey play he looks a bit like the uber drumkit smasher-upper, Keith Moon. Same spastic movements, same silly face. He's lovely. :)

I reckon they all count as Britpop - people like the Kaiser Chiefs and Art Brut could be straight from 1995.
