Yes the best news i heard in years, a full instrumental album!!! Beastie Boys, great job! (y)

damn, I was gettin ready to make this thread.

and yes, this is pretty awesome news.

I like how it's kinda like giving their careers a new start. TT5B was the cap off to the hip hop and now they've evolved, matured. You can only rap about "gorganzola and provolone" for so long.

also, all the people I know who say they don't like the BBoys claim it's because of their voices.

so, off we go!

I'm psyched.

i'm pretty psyched as well. hopefully this won't be the very end of rhyming (which i highly doubt), but i'm glad they still have such a desire to continue their instrumental work with such enthusiasm.

I'm still not happy about this album...

...i'm really trying to get excited too :(

Honestly, I think the hesitation to be excited comes from people expecting The In Sound From Way Out 2: Still Way Out.

And even though that's a great record, it's not an official album. Even I myself don't really want more instrumental stuff like that.

And I don't expect to get it with The Mix Up (we'll assume that title is confirmed).

The Beastie boys have never really made the same record twice so I expect a whole new direction with this album.

Bring on July.

I still don't 100% believe it is all instrumental because weird rumours always circulate before they release official Beastie Boys album announcements, but I guess it is starting to look like it might be. I don't hate instrumentals, I'm sure the album would be great it's just I don't personally like listening to them, they're not my cup of tea. I'd still buy the album just because it was Beastie Boys, I just don't think I'm really the audience they're making it for.

i don't think they're making it for any audience. just for themselves, and whoever likes it likes it. plain and simple.

The day they try to satisfy the masses is the day they lose their touch.
