on a subject I'm especially interested in, ie. the role of the media, particularly concerning their conduct in the lead up to the Iraq war. (http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/btw/watch.html)

does anybody watch PBS in the US? we get a little bit of it here in NZ and it seems rather good.

Yes, I watched that special on Wednesday and it was excellent! Very important for people to see and to always think critically. I never bought into the media hype in that lead-up to the Iraq war, but it was apalling how much they glossed over the opposition during that time.

And I presume people watch PBS in America. It IS funded by "Viewers Like You", right? ;)

I watched Bill Moyers and Jon Stewart (http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/04272007/profile.html) here on PBS in Seattle last night.

The clip above is a very accurate portrayal of how the Bush administration works, Moyers is one of the finest journalists working in the USA today. His body of work stands the test of time.

it's funny watching online clips of Bill O'Reilly bluster and blow about "being taken out of context" by Moyers when even the extended clips he plays don't exonerate him.

Is there links on YouTube? I'm surprised O'Reilly is aware PBS exists.

The interview with Jon Stewart was amazing. You know, if Stewart were ever to ditch the whole comedy thing (heaven forbid) and go serious, he could pull off the "real" news too. He's amazingly insightful, both in a serious and comedic context. (y)
