I'm pretty sure that at least 80 or even 100 percent of you on this board would like to shit in Wolfmother's cornflakes.

Truth is, I've been known to spin that cd alot. I love it and still do. It's got some of the best influence from all aspects of instruments. Of course I've got to say the guitaring is just sick. He uses a good choice in pedals as well.

I just think that they're giving us the good ole' rock n' roll sound that we've been missing.

Only thing I dislike now is that they're getting commercialized but, can you blame them? It's getting kinda tough for musicians these days.

you know, i've tried so hard not to like them. but fuck, i saw them live and they were good.
i think the reason i like them is because they're an amalgamation of all the bands i like. it's not like they're original or amazing.

So far, I've been to a few bars in Manhattan and just last night I went to a bar in Jersey and they were playing some of their songs and the people seemed to enjoy it.

I had some conversation over them and people were like, what's to hate of them?

For sure, they have alot of Sabbath, Zeppelin influence but, am I supposed to hate them for that?

I hate them for taking the classic sound and passing it off as their own. They don't have the credibility to do that, and are just another derivative local act. On their debut EP they also rip off the White Stripes. Yes Jack White rips of a classic sound, too. But he does it well.

Its the complete lack of originality in new music that really gets me. I mean Wolfmother are streets ahead of people like Jet as far as quality is concerned but its still a cheap ripoff. There is so much Led Zep and Sabbath in their music I barely see the point in listening to them when you can go straight to Led Zeppelin II or III and get better, more original music (for the time, of course).

The other thing about Wolfmother that shits me is when the singer/guitarist dude plays lead breaks live. If you're going to do it, make sure you have the skills to do it properly. The times I've seen them he's in the wrong key, notes in the wrong place, just badly played in general.

I don't really hate Wolfmother per se, it's just what I hear is nothing particularly special nor does it stand out. Just listen to Led Zep and Black Sabbath if you're in the mood for that stuff.
