either that, or everyone's quietly making fun of me, it's hard to know the difference
in law school i mean. for my first semester, i was all clean shaven and stuff, and i didn't really see anyone else with a beard either. around the start of the second semester, i decided i'd start up the beard experiment again, and i stuck with it (still got one), and suddenly i started seeing beards everywhere. well, on maybe 4 or 5 people, i dunno, but it was a noticeable increase in the bearded population, i tell you. so either there's something about the second semester of law school that makes guys want to grow beards, or people are imitating me.
the other thing is i've started playing around with hair gel lately (i have very straight, thick, style-resistant hair, i'd given up on trying to make it look nice years ago, but lately i've been thinking about trying again because hey, what do i have to lose) and suddenly i see people styling their hair in ways that i'd never seen them do it before
i can't be sure, but i think i'm the cause of it. so i'm gonna try an experiment. currently, not one person in my class (or in boston or america or the 21st century for that matter) wears an ascot. i'm gonna start. every day. we'll see how committed these bastards are
