I plan to be rich enough so I can pay people to do anything that may need even a hint of physical labour.

christmas and birthdays i always get tools of some sort from my dad. he's a radio tech and he grew up in a wrecking yard so we've got billions of tools lying around the place. i'm not a pro but i've got enough tools to fix most household items. plus i'm still the only one in this rental house that knows how to work a fuse box

sure do!
not only have they come in handy, but they impress boys!!

like the other night a guy was over helping me with my computer and he needed a phillips head... so i dug around and got 2 from the toolbox and 2 smaller ones from my 2 swiss army knives. he was suitably impressed. although he didn't need one in the end.

i got the toolbox for free when i subscribed to TIME for 6 months. hated the magazine, loved the toolbox.

now i'm after a set of mini screwdrivers - good for fixing things like glasses and computers and stuff. and a mallet. everyone needs a mallet. i have to borrow my dad's all the time. and then i bring it back a week later and he's all YAY THAT'S WHERE MY MALLET WAS!!

icy i can work a fuse box! well i can change a fuse. but my last house had new fandnagled fuses that didn't have visible wire or stuff and i was totally lost as to what to do.

i ask because some tools are easy to make out of organic things like bark and mud

Yeah I got tools. Lots of hand tools lying around the place. Power tools as well; drills, sander, etc. The circular saw (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Vincered/Picture21.jpg) is what I plan on using to defend myself from zombies and burglars.

Did I tell you I built a shelf? Yeah, it is still standing

Just :(

Quick, somebody help me justify these tool purchases.

When I bought my flat it came with a welcome pack containing a bunch of tools and some and wine. A bit of an odd combination for sure.

Btw it's not the best idea to erect a cupboard when you're half cut.

i think someone should put "yeah, i got tools" on a tshirt. it sounds so cocky. like "wtf, biatch? of course i got some fucking tools. you calling me some sort of FAGGIT? bring it!"

also, a circular saw seems not so much a tool as a weapon, joe.

also, when i think of anything related to saws i think of christian bale butt nekkid chasing after the prostitute in american psycho. i love the way he DROPS IT ON HER HEAD haARRHAHAHAHhahahahaahha!

ahem.

Working in a Hardware store, I am constantly getting (stealing) free t-shirts from tool companies. I have a t-shirt that says "I HAVE A FAT TOOL". No shit.

Yeah, I've got most of the regular stuff like. You know, hammers, screwdrivers, chisels all that kind of crap plus the power tools. I owned a nail gun up until recently for working on the other house but I couldn't justify it anymore. I've also got a brushcutter, ride-on mower and the best thing of all: a chainsaw. Those zombies don't stand a chance.

I have three sets, one small set in each car and one in the house.

And I'm allowed to borrow things out the farm workshop, which rocks as it's all huge industrial sized stuff I could easily injure myself 'Tim the Tool Man Taylor' style with.

Me being a technician requires me to have a toolcase.

i have a full on bling one that looks like it should be carrying thousands of dollars in unmarked notes instead of a multimeter, silicone spray and multigrips.

I got one of those nifty ratchet sets, with like a thousand different little heads I can put on one tool. And it came with four or five different kinds of pliers too. Also I have a set of wee little screwdrivers for tightening my specs.

But I don't have a hammer. Or a wrench. Never mind anything heavier. But why do you need something like that in an apartment?

I used to, but when my brother and I went our separate ways, he took them. :(

I'm pretty sure my new house has tools somewhere.

I have a ruler from a construction company that says "Our erections last."

And I have many awesome tools which I have used for all sorts of things.
