"Whilst" and "thus far" just sound like the person is trying to sound literate when, in fact, it sounds desperate. I bet Strunk and White even calls people out on those.

"Thus" is fine. It's when someone says "Spider-Man 3 is the best movie of the year I have seen thus far" that it just sounds silly. And not because they think Spider-Man 3 is a good movie -- it's the "thus far" thing. It sounds like a ninth grader's idea of sophisticated speech.

Words like 'creative' when used as a noun...
"What do you do for a living?"
"I'm an advertising creative"
"Cunt"

After careful deliberation, we at the British Speeling Council have decided to discuss the possibility of removing "whilst" from the dictionary.
We have deemed the removal of the word fair on condition that certain words within US English be altered slightly. We suggest you start by replacing all those misplaced "U"s immediately in words such as favoUr and coloUr

I hate eatery. It's not like a laundrette is a washery, a toilet a shittery.
And I've just seen this, regarding eateries
AFP - Tuesday, April 24
LONDON (AFP) - A man stormed into a London restaurant and hacked off his own penis in front of horrifed diners, the Italian eaterie said Tuesday.
The man charged into a branch of a pizza and pasta chain Zizzi in a touristic area of central London on Sunday.
"This guy came running in then charged into the kitchen, got a massive knife and started waving it about," diner Stuart McMahon told The Sun newspaper.
"Everyone was screaming and running out as he jumped on a table, dropped his trousers and popped his penis out.
"Then he cut it off. I couldn't believe it."

i like thus, but i concur on thus far.
i'm also a fan of whilst and behoove. and i'm gonna try to work betwixt into conversation this week, because it's awesome. surreptitiously is another favorite.
last week i got to use burgled. right after i said it, my trial partner looked at me and said "you've been waiting to be able to say that, haven't you?" i don't know how he knew that, but i really had. it's fantastic.
speaking of burgled, i have a case where the client allegedly lit candles in the place he burgled. i'm sorta creeped out by that.

I want 'squaw' removed. I want it removed from the names of highways, roads, mountains, valleys, neighborhoods, and shopping centers. It's racist and sexist and I HATE it. But it will never be up for banning like other racially offensive words because no one cares if they offend native americans, and even less so native american women. There, I said it. Deal with it.
And I want Uber gone. But that's just because it's a trendy word and it's annoying.

I hate the word squaw so damn much. I also hate it when people think it's so funny to say "Slap a ho" when referring to Navajo.

Wow, there's sympathy for the red experience on this board? I'd have never guessed.
While we're at it here's some more words that should go:
kike
spic
faggot
bitch
chink

cracker

My dad is 100% Cherokee. I hate any kind of Indian slurs, jokes. Especially when they're told in this stupid, "me do this and me do that". It's pathetic when a native American joke is told to me and they notice that I'm not laughing. I've got blue/green/yellow eyes and I'm fairly complexed so, people think they're safe telling me those jokes and not even knowing my nationality.
Yeah, the chink, gook or any other racial slurs can go to hell. Especially when people can't even get them right, such as calling a Korean a chink. Dumbasses.

My pop is 100% Cheyenne. I can remember tourists stopping to take pictures of us when I was little and lived with him on the reservation. They'd be like, "Look, Stanley! A real live Injun!" And Pop would make my sisters and me go inside to play because he was affraid someone would take one of us home as a souvenier. It was known to happen.
