Doeas anyone know whether the album is being released under a Creative Commons copyright license? A Creative Commons license allows artists to release materials with some greater freedoms for derivative uses and whatnot. I know the Beasties have done this in the past, and that they generally support the Creative Commons as an institution, but it occurred to me that doing this with this instrumental album would allow remixers, mashers, producers, and DJs to break this album apart in terms of sampling. I think it would be a great idea. It could also, depending on the scope of the license, give their audience a chance to distribute non-commercial versions of the songs with vocals, or completely remixed and chopped or whatever. So, if anyone knows, let us know.

You might want to also check out their website at creativecommons.org (http://creativecommons.org). They spell the whole thing out pretty well. It's a great alternative to the pay me or get nothing approach of modern copyright.
