On June 26 2004 there were 1,461 people signed on Beastie Boys' message board. When this new LP drops will this number be surpassed?

There are 636 people on these boards right now and the we are over a month away from the album. Food for thought.

We will see what happens. It is an empirical (albeit trivial) question with a clear answer. June 26 2004 was 12 days after the TT5B. Therefore we simply need to check if the record of 1,461 online users will be broken from now until 12 days after The Mix-Up hits the streets.
Wonder if Minton will weigh in on this one ;)

tt5b had more hype than this album not just because it was straight up hip hop but becasue it was 6 years since their last album, thats almost a frickin decade

Exactley - what with all the Jay-Z/Nelly/Ying Yang - whatever the hell it is that the kids listen to these days - on the shelves, there is no way in hell an instrumental is gonna bring in new fans unless thier into the indie type scene.

By the way I just noticed that there was 829 users online today 22 June 2007. Still below the 1,461 mark but the LP has not dropped yet. I am still confident that the record of online users could be broken within a couple of weeks after the album gets released. Unsure why I care about this. I guess I like the idea of the board getting some use and the users as an indirect assay of interest in the band's new material.
