Um, nope. I heard it today. With God as my witness, I can tell you no lyrics. You could make your own up to it though. Heyyyy that'd be fun.

When I bought CYH for the longest time I didn't think Time for Livin' had lyrics. On my CD player it didn't play the vocals. Months later I bought a CD player for my car and I was blown away. Also on Much Music (Canadian Video Station) they used to play the video without vocals too.
The moral of this story is that maybe, just maybe if you play it on a magical CD player it will have vocals.

Does it really matter? If there were people who refused to believe that Mike D wasnt a green alien with an arm growiing out of his ass - does it really matter? Honestley, if people wanna hang on to a shred of hope, I dont see what the big deal is to everyone else.

Same with me. I played "Time For Livin'" in my CD player and in my Xbox and it never played the lyrics. It wasn't until I saw the "Time For Livin'" music video that I realized "Holy fuck! That song actually has lyrics!?!?"

i would be happy with whatever they do release..that's what it all comes down to..i'm just rambling

It's all instrumentals. CYH was supposed to be an all instrumental album, but Mario C wanted some hip hop on it too.
So this time round, no Mario C, no hip hop.
So for the pro-hip hop crowd, blame Mario C for not being there :D

I had a CD player that did that too -- only I had the player after knowing the CD pretty well. Kind of a head-eff to suddenly not hear those lyrics.

If you read the articles from various sources, it really appears to me that the word instrumental is used in a sense to say that there is simply no sampling and the the music itself is created entirely from the use of their own instruments. This is largely how CYH was created and I believe that the new album is going to be very similar - with vocals included.

World exclusive - Beastie Boys name new album
Mike D gets ready for new record and Live Earth gig
26.Apr.07 10:00am
Beastie Boys have revealed exclusively to NME.COM that their new album will be called 'The Mix Up' and will be released in June.
Bandmember Mike D said the follow-up to 2004's 'To The 5 Boroughs' will be "radically different" to its' predecessor. The rockier record will instead hark to the style of the band's classic albums 'Check Your Head' and 'Paul's Boutique'.
Mike D said: "We play instruments on the whole album, as opposed to sampling. There's more rock on there. If you know us you can trace the influences and they're no completely surprising. Someone who listens to us casually might think 'What the hell are these guys doing?'
"It might make you flip your wig right off, or your hairpiece, if you're a casual listener."
The star also talked about the band's forthcoming appearance at the London leg of the Live Earth shows, which aim to promote action to confront global climate change.
Beastie Boys will perform at Wembley Stadium alongside the likes of Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snow Patrol.
Speaking about the cause, Mike D said: "It's come to the point where drastic measures have to be taken now. To really create a mass consciousness of what needs to be done, mass action, it's gonna take mass awareness. And these huge concerts around the globe are probably one of the best means of doing so."
Asked if he would be playing any new material at the event, the star replied: "By that point we'll already be playing new songs. But I dunno - you don't wanna do 'Jazz Odyssey' in front of a crowd of 60,000."

Beastie Boys to 'Mix Up' New Album
April 26, 2007
The New York rabble-rousers return to rock roots with forthcoming record.
Beastie Boys' Mike D and MCA
Now that Bad Brains have built a Nation and returned towering Beastie Boy MCA, a.k.a. Adam Yauch, the Boys have kick started their PR machine, announcing The Mix Up, the trio's forthcoming album tentatively dropping this June, NME.com reports. "We play instruments on the whole album, as opposed to sampling. There's more rock on there," Mike D told NME.com. "If you know us you can trace the influences and they're not completely surprising. Someone who listens to us casually might think 'What the hell are these guys doing?'"
Fans hoping to sneak a peek at the band's new material can catch the Boys' performance Labor Day weekend at George, WA's Sasquatch! Festival or July 7 at the London leg of Live Earth, Al Gore's worldwide concert aiming to draw attention to global warming. "It's come to the point where drastic measures have to be taken now. To really create a mass consciousness of what needs to be done, mass action, it's gonna take mass awareness. And these huge concerts around the globe are probably one of the best means of doing so," Mike D said about the necessity of the Live Earth concerts.

I disagree that Check Your Head was largely created through the sampling of their own instruments. Is it part of the record? Yes. Is it a major part of the hip hop songs on that album? Not really. A song like Live at PJs doesn't feature any samples. Songs like Jimmy James, Pass the Mic, Professor Booty, Finger Lickin' Good, The Maestro, even So Whatcha' Want to a large extent are heavily sample based. There are examples of them sampling their own insruments, but I don't think it's fair to say that Check Your Head was largely created in that way.

PJ's does use a sample, albeit not of them. Is that what you mean?
Something's Got to Give is one of the finest examples of them sampling themselves playing. Close to none of that song is a live recording. Bars of their playing were looped up for Pass The Mic, and So Watcha Want, and form a substantial part of those songs. Pretty much all of the latter is sampling their own playing, bar a Biz sample. Ditto The Maestro. Except instead of a loop, that is actually played, then the verses and scratching were fitted into it. Note the difference in the sound, though. It's clear 'Pjs' is actually 'live', and Maestro is not. It's right there.
Don't forget Yauch playing the guitar over Stand Together, either.

Well, I guess it depends on what you consider substantial. I think you're right that songs like So Watcha' Want use a lot more of the sample myself technique (does sample Sothside Movement, apart from the Biz), but the Choir, Bad Brains, and Ron Carter samples on Pass the Mic are key elements of the song and I don't think they'd be the same without them. Same deal with the samples on Jimmy James. Of course, Mike's drums are key too, but at this point it seems like both approaches to sampling are significant to what makes up these songs musically.
I didn't bring up Something's Got to Give because it isn't hip hop and I still think the Beastie Boys, even in the age of tightened sampling laws, are among the musicians making the most creative use of samples, Check Your Head is a good example and it remains, for me, a prime example of creativity in sampling (though not as unleashed as earlier albums prior to Biz Markie's and De la Soul's lawsuits). Because sampling is quickly disappearing from the landscape of hip hop music it's disappointing to think that they may not go back to that fountain and it seems from interviews that they've been somewhat frustrated by the legality and inconvenience of sample clearance.
Valid points, though.
