Jay-Z - Streets Is Watching, So Ghetto, A Million And One Questions, Feelin' It, Regrets, Lucifer, Renegade ft. Eminem (Pretty much the pinnacle of Em's career in terms of talent), Heart Of The City (Aint No Love)... damn there's too much

Mos Def - Mathematics, Oh No ft. Nate Dogg & Pharoahe Monch, Ghetto Rock, Brown Sugar
Talib Kweli - Get By, We Know ft. Faith Evans, Joy
Black Star - Definition, Hater Players
De La Soul - Get Three Feet High and Rising and Mosaic Thump
Tribe - Check The Rhime, Electric Relaxation, Award Tour, Mr Incognito, The Scenario.... shit it's all good
The Roots - Guns Are Drawn (easily their best song IMO), Double Trouble ft. Mos Def, Boom
Pharcyde and Jean Grae - never really got into them, don't know enough of their shit to recommend what's best
Benefit - Warp To World 69... the only song you need to hear
Cypress Hill - I Wanna Get High, Hits From The Bong (obviously), High Times, Tequila Sunrise, How I Could Just Kill A Man, When The Shit Goes Down

Afu Ra feat Masta Killa - Livin like that

Scratch Bottom Feeders. Not appropriate for a 13 year old girl. The instrumental is fire, though.

Mos Def - Hip-Hop, Ms Fatbooty, Know That

Talib - Fly that Knot, Get By

Black Star - Defintion

Jean Grae - P.S, Nah Mean Nah Sayin (Herbalizer feat Jean Grae)

De La Soul - The Stone Age, Ego Trippin', All Good, Potholes in My Lawn, Oodles of O's, Millie Pulled a Pistol on Santa, Stakes Is High, Squat!, The Grind Date, Rock Co. Kane Flow, Freedom Train, Live at the Dugout '87, Pass the Plugs

El Producto - EMG, Flyentology

Devin the Dude feat Adre 3000 and Snoop - What a job

Tribe - Left my wallet in El Segundo, Scenario, Can I kick it?, Steve Biko, Sucka Nigga, Vibes and Stuff, Oh My God

Jay Z (bearing in mind I find dude highly overrated) - 22 Two's, Coming of Age, Brooklyn's Finest, Dead Presidents II

Murs/Felt- Marvin Gaye, Suzanne Vega, What do you know?, Tranzitions as a Ridah, H.U.S.T.L.E, The Animal, And This is For, Your Mans and Them

How come you find him highly overrated? Sure he's overrated like most famous rappers but I don't see him as highly overrated. What is it about him that you don't dig?

He makes good songs. That's about it. I like that he doesn't write, but I have to force myself to really vibe to his albums. It's just me. I got the wife into him though, she thinks his flow and shit makes him a smooth motherfucker.

It's just not my style.

Feir enough. He is smooth as fuck though, I would even say he has the best flow I've ever heard.

Yeah, he's pretty good. I just find him to be really overrated. And sometimes his flow is contrived and the double entendres just shit me to tears. But yeah, I can dig that people like him a lot.

As for The Pharcyde...you can't go wrong with Bizarre Ride II or Labcabincalifornia. Pretty much any track off either album is classic.

Their 3rd and 4th albums are good, but a little more inconsistent.
