Okay, so I think it may be a problem with the cord but this doesn't make sense. It's a little loose, so I have to get it juuuust right to get it to charge. However, it's charging now and I wanted to add some songs and get rid of some crap I didn't want anymore, and when I go to "organize now" it pops up with "Player not connected." So naturally I think "Oh no, the loose connection has been lost," except I look at the screen and the little lightning bolt is flashing over the battery, meaning it's CHARGING!

So how the hell can it "not be connected" if it's charging the battery? Anyone else have this problem?

no help here, but my zen micro is haunted too. it makes its own decisions. sometimes i like to sit and watch it while i'm at work, because it will say, "oh no, you don't want to listen to that - let me change the song four times, then turn the volume down by 8 points, oh and by the way i'm switching it to FM radio, just so you know." and then it turns off. whee!

the scary thing the other day, though, was when it froze and i couldn't turn it off. i even took off the BATTERY pack and it wouldn't turn off. seriously, zombie zen.

my birthday's coming up though, and the Zune just came out in pink COUGH COUGH HINT HINT HACK HACK BIRTHDAY

You know, I thought it was the quality of my songs. A lot are quieter than others, I just figured they were recorded at a different byte rate (sp? you know what I mean). But that could also explain why some are really quiet and others are loud. MAYBE MINE'S POSSESSED TOO!

I loves my Zen though. :(

Im so glad Im not the only one who has one! Sept I have dont have the Micro I have one of the bigger one's. Everyone who sees mine always makes fun of me because its not an Ipod but I could give less of a shit, those things rock (y)

I dropped mine once on CARPET and the monitor got completley screwed up. Thats the only problem I've had with it so far. I had to send it in and they sent me a whole new one. Maybe you should try that if its really bothering you? They may have thier glitches but I still think thier better quality than Ipods are.

i love my zen too. but it's gotten old, and i used it pretty heavily for a long time, so i'm not too surprised that it's starting to break down. i've kind of outgrown it anyway. it doesn't have enough room for me anymore, and it's not really worth trying to fix it. it's great for working out, though, because it's so little. me and Astrid...sigh.

I think I may get a new one in a year or two, as for right now it's still just what I need. I have about 75% of it filled, so it's not too small for me.

As for sending it in to get fixed, I didn't get the warranty so that will probably cost more than it's worth. I bought it December 2004, so it could just be getting old. I'll probably call them tomorrow to ask them WTF.
