I see Carrick as the kind of player that will dominate the little EPL teams but once he comes up against world class players, he's exposed for what he is, which is a poor man's Xavi Alonso who cost far too much.

Keane/Scholes is a world class central midfield. even with the added player, Scholes/Carrick/Fletcher is average. without Giggs and Ronaldo bailing them out on the flanks, they'd get taken apart far more regularly.

Fucking bullshit. Vidic was not ready to come back at all, and I'm sorry to say it but Ferguson clearly got it wrong. His confessed tactic of "attack attack attack" is not something to attempt at the San Siro with a greatly weakened defence. Rooney was distant and the defenders were flustered in possession due to the lack of any defending from the midfield. It's a sorry fact that Ronaldo and Giggs just can not defend. Making players like John O'shea, Fletcher and Heinze push up the field is just asking to be taken apart, especially against what is possibly the greatest midfield in the world. This game was frustrating more than anything else, and has really dented my confidence in Fergie as a manager. Hopefully by the time the FA Cup Final comes around we will have remembered what passion is.
