Who's going? I just got my ticket (paying a ton because to get during the presale or initial sale you have to get both days). If you want info about the area, etc -- probably closer to the time of the show -- let me know -- I live in the area.

are the beasties playing the same day as the police...and if so, can you just buy a ticket for that day.....

The Beasties are playing the same day as the Police. Unfortunately, you can only buy a two-day pass and one-day tickets don't go on sale until May 20, if any are available. Before I looked at the ticket sale, I had thought you could split the two days between two people (I have a friend who is a huge Smasking Pumpkins fan and was hoping we could split the package), but apparently they give you a wristband and it looks like you're not able to split it.

Fortunately for me, I've always been a huge Police fan, and I don't have to travel.

i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go, but i'm torn because.... it'll cost all together like $500 since i'm coming from upstate NY...

i can take the train there (for free i believe), but then is there a reliable cheap public transportation system? and cheap hotels close the show?

I'm in DC, so I am probably going to take the train up there and then take a taxi from the train station, or may drive to Baltimore and take a shuttle -- depends on my friends. If you're coming from out-of-town, I'd recommend that you stay in Baltimore somewhere near one of the metro subway stations and then you can get to the shows free on the buses. Baltimore is a lot of fun as well, and generally fairly reasonable.

If you decide you want to stay in DC, pm me and I can give you more information. And I'm definitely not the person to talk to if you're torn because I am traveling to Paris during their major tourist time because the Beastie Boys will be there!

Even though one of my other favorite band's playing this event, I'm gonna have to hold off from other U.S. tour dates. N.Y.C. is a hellovatown to see the guys in like Kenny said prior to this post.

The Days Inn at the Inner Harbor is relatively cheap, but that's downtown and not close to the racecourse.

I'm waiting for single-day tickets and then seeing if I have someone to go with. If I do, then I'll probably go. If not...well yeah. Just gotta stay home. Which sucks, because I live in Maryland, about 40 minutes from the show. :(

you should still go! if you're only 40 minutes away.

i thought of going alone (flying down) because my boyfriend and friends won't spend the money. but i'd be scared staying in a hotel alone and being in a city i've never been in, so if nobody goes with me... i probably wont go. but i have one friend thats thinking about going... so i still have hope.

Nah, I don't think I could have fun at a concert alone. Especially for $98 bucks that could be going towards my grad school fund. ;)

We'll see how things work out. And the Beasties are planning on announcing more US dates, so perhaps I could find another show where I could see them for more than a 30-minute set, for a cheaper price.

Yeah....thats the route to go.

Maybe they will do the Patriot Center again. If so, I know all the fly spots where they got the captain and cokes.

Patriot Center was an amazing show. I personally want them to come back to RFK, but that may be a little too big for them. They were there for TFC '98 and it was a damn good show.

In an ideal world, they would come back to do a show at the 930 Club. A girl can dream . . .

being that they're talking about a club tour that dream may become a reality

In a perfect world, they'd come back to 9:30 club and let natives and/or huge fans have crack at the tickets first. It was complete bullshit that they just let "whoever won 'em" into the show. That venue is half an hour from my house, and I'm a huge fucking fan and have been for 9 years now. To hear that the place was jam-packed full of people that were singing along to ONLY LTI tracks made me pissed off. I tried so hard to get in, to no avail. People all across the country flocked to this show and filled it up, and since I can't really travel much outside of the DC area, this was my one shot to see them, but I couldn't.

Yeah, I'm bitter.

No more of this arena crap it was coolio for a second back in 95.

Beasties need to do Roseland again, and if they do I'll be there.
