Public toilets go paperless in Md. town
WALKERSVILLE, Md., May 2 (UPI) -- Irresponsible use of paper products has led to the removal of toilet paper and paper towels from Walkersville, Md., public restrooms.
Walkersville Town Manager Gloria Long Rollins said a fire set on the floor of a Walkersville Community Park men's bathroom -- using the city's paper products for fuel -- was the last straw, and now all public restrooms are going paperless, the Fredrick (Md.) News-Post reported Wednesday.
Paper towels will be replaced by electric hand dryers, and visitors to public parks are being encouraged to bring their own toilet paper.
Additional reports of misconduct at the town's four public parks have lead the city's the board of commissioners to plan a meeting aimed at discussing the creation of a neighborhood watch program.
I will remember to never shake anyone's hand while in Walkersville, MD.
