I am trying to change my homepage and it appears to be locked. I go to internet options and type in the new homepage click apply and OK......but it will not change.
Any suggestions?

Smash it up.

I have tried both.
My current homepage is my internet provider but I switched my e-mail from their slow webmail and connected it to my outlook express. Now I have no need for their shitty site to be my homepage. I want to switch but it will not accept a new page. Very strange. I have never had trouble changing a homepage in the past. Something has it locked in.

Anyone? Parkey--I have been thinking of smashing it but it is only a fleeting thought.

I might change to firefox but now I am intent on changing my homepage through Internet Explorer.

I am searching the web but can't find a good answer or remedy to the problem.

Who was your former provider?

Yeti, I'm sure you probably have some spyware on there. You should probably run spybot, hijack, ewido or something and clear out whatever's on there.

I am sweeping right now.

A to the Z, I have always used internet explorer as my browser. My internet service just switched from cox to suddenlink. Suddenlink is the site that is hogging my homepage. When we move in the next 6 months or so I will be back with Comcast. I am sure that I will figure out the homepage problem.
It is just odd. I have never had a problem switching.

All the time.
I changed it to this page about a month ago when my provider was bought by this company.

Got it. My Webroot software was expired. I renewed and ran a sweep.

Well, give me the advantages of going with Foxfire. I bought my computer less than a year ago and internet explorer was the installed browser. It runs very fast and is a great computer.
