View Full Version : The Queen
The Queen has touched down in my adopted hometown of Richmond Virginia. You Brits should be very afraid. She might come back humming bluegrass tunes.

I think it's kind of funny that she's visiting, in a way.
Hopefully she'll stay through Independence Day. :D

I visited Roanoke. That's in Virginia. I have the queen in my pocket. On a 50p.
Is it true that Virginia is named after Elizabeth I?
The Commonwealth of Virginia is a South Atlantic state historically considered part of the Southern region of the United States. Named after Queen Elizabeth I of England, who was known as the Virgin Queen, this commonwealth was one of the thirteen colonies that revolted against British rule in the American Revolution.

At the risk of shameless self promotion, if you get the current issue of Clash Magazine (http://www.clashmagazine.com/) (with the Arctic Monkeys on the cover) you can read my interview with them...
Here's a link to their new single on YouTube; Atlas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpGp-22t0lU&eurl=). Proper bonkers.
Parkey, what about these Arctic Monkeys? I read that they are good. I have not heard their music. I think it is rad that you are a Rock N Roll writer. Hunter S Thompson watch out. Ooops, he is pushing up daisies.
I saw video of the Queen this morning. She was at the state capitol listening to Ralph Stanley and his bluegrass band. She is going to come back to England humming Dooley, dipping snuff and speaking with a southern accent.

I'm not a fan of the Arctic Monkeys - they sound like George Formby rocking out... They have some alright songs and what not, but I really don't get the hype.
