The Houston Museum of Natural Science will pay $0.25 each for the first 1,000 living cockroaches brought in by the public at specific times over the next two weeks. The roaches will be part of an exhibit on the "'sanitary' engineers of the insect world'" within the new Brown Hall of Entomology. Those who bring in cockroaches after the 1,000 are already collected receive passes to the new exhibition hall.
Please don't die trying, those buggers are a nasty lot!

When I was in college I rented a house with 5 other guys. At Hell House nobody did dishes and the roaches were huge. One morning I went to take a shower and a cockroach looked out from behind the curtain and said---I won't be long.

i've never seen one in my home, knock on wood, but i've seen a few at school. two, actually, but they might have been the same roach, because they were both fucking gigantic. a good two inches long, i swear, with great big slimy antennae, ugh

In Texas, especially Houston, there is the common cockroach that can be found in unclean homes, and most taco stands.




Hence, the "Roach Coach."

Yeah, roaches are fucking disgusting. I was pretty pissed off when a guy moved into a house with my roommate and me, and he brought in roaches because his boxes of shit had been infested with them.

Otherwise, I've rarely encountered them.

Loved the roaches in Bloom County, though.
