Boy, a post that trashes people for being disappointed.

You're just the innovator of internet communities.

That's so weird that you would come into a happy thread and throw down a childish/useless/sarcastic/unhappy comment.

I checked out your last about twenty posts...they're all negative...what's up??

Let me guess...it's your right as part of the "internet community" to say what you want when you want...even if it means taking someones happy post and shitting on it. Eff that bro.(n)

Peace and love bro, peace and love.:D

What the hell is wrong with people, do they want Fight for Your Right all over again? There was a time when we all thought Hello Nasty was the last ever Beasties album, so stop being ungrateful.
havin said that, I hope its more funk than bosanova.

The number of "if you're disappointed, you're not a fan!" threads can be considered spam at this point.

No, it is a little amusing that you people act as if I am the only person in this camp. The only sentiment I posted before the announcement that the upcoming album was going to be all instrumental was positive.

Then you get a handful of people around here who are upset that their "once every four years" album isn't going to have lyrics, and then you get a gaggle of idiots, geese and the mentally challenged to blindly defend and die for a product they haven't even heard yet.

There is a difference. People are upset about the concept of an album without any lyrics. Nobody is questioning that they have the right to do this. But man, if this board got a dime for every assclown around here who says, "WAT SO IT WON'T HAVE LYRICS, I CAN'T B-LIEVE ALL U PPL WHO THINK ITZ GUNNA BE 'FIGHT FOR UR RIGHT' ALL U WANT IS 'FIGHT 4 UR RITE,'" well, it would have to be renamed Dime City.

If you honestly believe people are complaining because it isn't "Fight for Your Right," you must be stuck in the goddamn late 1980s.

The people around here are not upset about that kind of shit. If they were, they would've stopped following the Beastie Boys before the Internet even became mainstream.

By the way, this wasn't a "happy thread." This was a thread (once again) aimed directly at anyone who is in the slightest upset at the news that it is all instrumental.

Quit misrepresenting other peoples feelings.

speaking of misinterpretation, you caught shit in this thread simply for negating a light-hearted, honest, harmless topic/post, not for not being an unconditional beasties fan.

frankly, i wish you were an instrumental album.

Uh oh...I think you might be a little paranoid. It was aimed at those who like instrumental music, or just music in general and who are super-hyped to hear an album by a group that has blown them away with every other album delivered. And has nothing to do with those who are upset about anything.

Im with you. A lot of people on the board just want to line the beasties up and give them oral for whatever they do so if someone else has another opinion they automatically try to protect their boyfriends.

The thing is people love them for making the music they want to make, doin' what they want, then when they say they're doin' an instrumental album everyone complains!! You can't have it both ways - you either want them to be creative & make the music they want to make or you want to tell them what music you want them to make!!

Why are people acting like shareholders in a corporate business?!?! You gonna fire them from the band & take their place next?!

apparently we can't be excited about the new release. i see absolutely no reason why poeple are taking this thread so personal. it has zero to do with the people who aren't hyped for the album. the opening post did nothing but show excitement for the new album, didn't even make a reference to the dissapointed fans.

there's a big difference between having a respectable opinion and simply just trying to rain on every parade you can find.

they're feckin supposed to be rappers dammit! they've got skills at writing some funk n instrumental tracks but honestly, for a rap group they should have no more than a quarter of the songs on one of their albums be non-rap tunes

my feelings precisely. an artist is an artist. they don't have to do anything except what they feel. the moment the beasties start equating their albums to fulfill some hip-hop to "other styles" ratio for the sake of filling the requirements of being card-carrying rappers is the day they're no longer artists.

I dunno what the fuck some of you are talking about! This thread is just for "saying thanks"

I'm just very happy that the beasties have always been themselves and don't give a shit what people like jobddt think!

I don't like everything the beasties have put out, however I do appreciate them being "true to themselves." That's why they will always be great!

I wonder if 90% of you would even be here right now if Check Your Head had been all instrumental like it was originally planned.....

That is the exact attitude and sentiment you had in the original post, which is why I bothered responding to your shitty, generic thread.

Your backhanded, smarmy rip on people who only want the Beasties to do "popular music" was laughable.

You just proved here that you think people who would rather see the Beasties have lyrics on their new album are restricting their freedom.

For that, you are a cunt.

Anyone who calls a fellow beastie boys fan a "cunt" has got the wrong idea about their music. You've missed the point. That is really sad and mean and thoughtless. Damn, who gives a fuck about the new Bboy's album except that it will be the boys having gotten together and doing their best to make an album that they will enjoy. They must be in a really good space right now considering how fast this one came about.
I just think that JobDDT's comment was really uncalled for. C'mon man. The threads should not be a place to rag or hassle people or make them feel bad. It is fine to argue and raise opinions and ideas and I think it is healthy to have diverse feelings towards the boys and what they are doing and how other people feel, but calling someone a "cunt" is lame, really lame, grow up man. Too bad you missed the release of Licensed to Ill by 2 years. If that was the case for me I'd probably be just as pissed as you are.

you guys and grls are so sweet when you protect yr boyfriends.... uàuàuàuà!

why get upset in this way? look the thing in the positive way: after 3 years, a new album. me too i'm a little bit disappointed by an istrumental album... cause love their lyrics, and the alchemy of their voices, and so, but... wait to listen to it before get worry!

i agree with Justin: beasties are fabolous for lots reasons, and one of them is they alwais play what they feel, who care about people opinion. like yauch said in an old interview in rome... NOBODY HAS NEVER COME TO US SAYIN': FOLKS, IT'S TIME TO MAKE A DANCE ALBUM.

but i see the reason of the other one guy too: if something that beasties do or say make us think: omfg, what a shame/bullshit, we can say it without problems!

long life to beasties, in all case

Actually, it was MCA who said "sometimes I write rhythms, rather write rhymes."

In response to the album, I was one of the guys who was ultra dissapointed, but now I'm ultra hyped. Off The Grid is just fucking incredible. Who the fuck else can do what the Beasties do?
