It leaked like 2 weeks before it came out. I didn't download it. I did listen to the clean version streaming on MTV's "the leak" a week before release though.

Yeah it was available at least a couple weeks before it was officially released. I don't feel bad d-loading a leaked album 'cause you know I'm gonna buy a copy....and a DVD, and a shirt, and I'll take the sticker, yep, the keychain, the hoodie, the ashtray, the.....

To be honest,

I download everything. I feel bad about it sometimes, but not bad enough to make me stop. I did go out and buy TT5B. I didn't download it at all. I was lucky enough to find a store who had it on the shelves a few days early though.(y)

When this one surfaces, I'll d'load it. I'll definitely buy it when it releases though, on principle.

Yeah, MTV does that with a lot of new music.
It's not really a "leak" in the context I'm thinking. You can't download the songs, you can just hear the streaming audio.

Also, sometimes albums are released on different days in different countries. My local hussle-man sometimes has the japanese release for sale a week or two earlier than the US.

I still don't see how people can download an album of their favorite band, and NOT get the real version (and pay for it!) when it is released though...

P.S. The downloaded "early" version included 'Now Get Busy' at the end of it...

TT5B leaked because it was available in Japan a week or two before the Europe and US dates.

I will always buy the Beasties work on CD and Vinyl. Not just the principle of it but also I like to check out the artwork. I grew up staring at album covers and reading liner notes.

Yeah, I dig down in my pockets for all the artists I truly love and admire. God I've sure spent a good chunk of my expendable income on these Beastie Boys over the years. I will go get the vinyl, cd, prolly purchase the Japanese version from some exotic website etc... and don't even get me started on what I may spend travelling and buying concert tix. Pschewwwie! i'll usually only download my favorite stuff after the copy i bought goes to shit, gets scratched and all. but not with the beasties. i like to have the real thing for some reason. i think i've bought hello nasty like three times now. i wear those out pretty damn fast.

Hybrid Theory was a great album if you're into that genre of music.
Shinoda's Fort Minor project got much respect from me too.
I had high expectations when I heard Rubin was involved.

i've never been very fond about any of there's or shinoda's work, but i read some article awhile ago in rolling stone about how they had like 40-50 songs written to choose from for the record and how rick had them going about there creation process in a new way. i thought it may be slightly worth checking out from that read. apparently not though.

i don't like that sound - album's leakage,but if it'll happen,so everybody have own choise for grab it or for buy it!But really... before full official release appearance I would like to catch though one track... maybe like promo single!
It's only usual peoples curiocity! 15 seconds samples for each track also 'll be good for more Beastie Boys fans!

i remember that a dumb guy named riemer (redeamer) uploaded the complete tt5b album to his website and posted a link on the official beastie messageboard to it, that was a week before the album would be officialy released, that was a verry dumb action, he got banend from the boards i think :)

I didnt get a leaked copy. I just knew a guy that sold them before the legal street date.
