Thank you for making crumpets. They are delicious, especially with butter and a wee bit of jam.
Fuck, I spilled jam on my linens.

My friends actually believed crumpets were a made-up food, or only found in England. I proved them wrong last week when I got a package at Trader Joe's.
Goddamn, I love these things.

No no no!! Pikelets are a Yorkshire thing - they look like crumpets but they are slightly thinner. The best pikelet i ever had was in Betty's Tea Room in Harrogate! :D I still call the thicker crumpets pikelets even though technically they arn't.

^^ Excellent - I was trying to remember the name of that tea shop. Been there several time with a bunch of sweaty leathered up bikers when we've been riding up that way from Doncaster to the Pennines and Lake District. Cheers
Also, for any "foriegners" planning a visit to Blighty, please remember that crumpet can also be applied in a sexual way i.e - "a bit of crumpet" to describe either comely young lovely OR a quick shag.
DO NOT ask for "some crumpet". This could result in scalding tea spilt onto a strategically painful area. :o

Oooh, clotted cream. And kebabs. And chips. I miss getting to eat all of that stuff. Not all at once of course, that would be gross.

Crumpets are so perfect, the way the little holes on the top allow for jam/topping to be held within as well as upon.
Someone should get a Nobel prize for that.
Back in the days when I ate a lot of cheese, they were fine with it melted all over the top.

oooh individual finger shaped crumpets. they are so goddamned cute.
i ate nearly half a jar of jam (obviously on bread, i didn't just sit there with a spoon - although i wouldn't put that past me) this past three days. raspberry.
are we all in agreement that raspberry jam is better than strawberry jam, yes?

you are most welcome.
not too sure about the baked beans though. crumpets have a weird sort of texture that i dont think will lend itself to heinz. but perhaps. i might push the boat out here..
