About 45 mins ago, I walked to this little store to buy some beer. As I walked back, 3 guys tried to jump me. I guess they didn't plan the attack because they all took some swings on me which really didn't do anything so, I hit the first guy who was the closest in the kidney.
It buckled him. He went down pretty hard and the other 2 ran away.
I can't wait to move.
Just to give you an idea of where I currently live, This (http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/3025/0603071701wd0.jpg) thing just appeared one day. I'm not sure if it's bad or good.
After what happened just now, I told the wife to never leave her house without the mace.

No, I just called the cops when I was standing over him. I'm kinda freaked out because they showed up like within 5 minutes of me calling. If they show up that fast then something tells me that they have a QRF for my neighborhood. That's not good at all.
That pic is an NYPD observation deck. It has cameras all the way around. I don't think it's a good thing for it to just appear one day.

Yeah it looks pretty ghetto. The building looks sort of randomly placed, big ass 99cent store, and that white camera tower thing must be there for a reason.

I'm not sure if he did because I didn't stay much longer after the cops came. They just asked a few questions of what happened for their statement and I just left after that. They said that's all they needed.
I'm pretty sure he did though.

That sucks for your grandpa. Yeah, there's nothing but some punks around here. My wife said some Chinese lady got raped in the laundry mat right down the street from us about 8 months ago.
Oh yeah, she carries the mace in her hand. Luckily we only live a block away from the subway so it's not too far of a walk.

Thanks. I'm the type of guy who used to get totally shitfaced when I was 18-19 and tell my friends who were pretty much in shape to punch me in the gut and head as hard as they could, and I'd just laugh. I aint gonna lie though, it did hurt like hell but it doesn't bother me so when these guys took their little swings, it was like yeah, ok. They didn't even leave a bruise and I didn't feel it when I woke up.
The best part about it is that my wife didn't totally freak out. She's not really scared but more on her guard.

may I ask how much the rent is in that area? Just curious. Considering that it's that bad and all I always ask. Especially because I am always on the verge of wanting to relocate.

It's 1,100 per month which isn't all that bad being NY. Also the building is new and our apartment is perfect for just the wife and I and my daughter when she comes over.
My wife picked the place because the landlord is Chinese and being it's my wife's first time living in the states I decided to just follow along. Now she knows and I will pick the next place. I was going to move to this real nice area in Brooklyn but now I'm thinking about a place in New Jersey called Bayonne. Real real nice area and great for my little girl to run around and it's also convenient for me and the wife to get to work.
If you're wanting to relocate to NY, don't expect to pay less than 850 per month.
