Sony has re-upped for three more.

What could be really interesting is if they land a really solid director.

Raimi is all right, but he's kind of like a high-end Rodriguez. He's willing to fuck around a bit too much with humorous elements, and it doesn't always work.

The Harry Potter movies actually have turned it around and gotten kind of good; maybe Sony can take a cue from them and really lay out for solid talent.

God, I hope they wouldn't go with, like, McG or something.

David Fincher said he'd like to do Spider-Man, he turned down the original because he didn't want to do the genesis of Spidey...

I don't think this is Fincher material. I would have rather seen him take over Batman had Nolan not knocked it the fuck out of the park.

I always wished that James Cameron would do a Spider-Man film.

He did write one of the first drafts for the first film.

Maybe they can get the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun to play Spiderman.

I had to explain Spiderman to the 4 1/2 year old the other day. I found myself using both the comic book and the after school cartoon from my youth for the foundation of Spidey. I'm not that up on the dark side.

Cameron would be a good choice if he weren't already tied up for five years or so.

I think it's time Soderbergh did a superhero movie. :D He could definitely get the insecure Peter Parker thing down.

I dunno man. Soderbergh seems to have decided on a new career formula.

Which one? Gordon Levitt is busy being in some pretty good movies. (y)

I like Jake Gyllenhal for Spidey. Not a very inspired choice as they talked about him for the first one but its mine nonetheless.

The one I'm more into recasting is Mary Jane. I never really got Kirsten Dunst in that role. Maybe because the red hair looks so fake on her (at least in the first two movies).

I can't really think of someone else, though. Someone weight in on this...
